I tried other plunge routers and they were all flimsy. That includes Bosch, Triton. This router is dead steady locked or not. I am using it on Leigh for tenon/mortises and precision is important for me.I have to say, I got it off Amazon first and it was defective. The one I got from HD was perfect. There seem to be quality control issues.

I use this in my router sled to plane out tons of hardwood. It will run, non stop, for a few hours. Tons of power, no breakdowns, good dust collection; what more could you ask for?

I frequently do tasks that call upon the trusted router. The Dewalt being one of the best. Allowing fine adjustments and ease of transferring the motor to the multiple bases is quick.Would recommend the guides as a wonderful addition.

I find that depth adjustment lock works great not like the cheap ones that move and change depth while your using them. Vacuume attachment is a great bonus and helps keep your work area clean. This unit is expensive but I guess you get what you pay for.

The dewalt trade name insures a very sturdy tool and this routers specifications are what I need. I will be going to the store to examine it and make a purchase. The one nigative aspect of your online view is that it is not a proper picture of the product and this is why I will be going to your store in Belleville Ontario to get a better look at this item.

I purchased this router for my dad as a gift. Not being a handywoman myself, the staff at the Belleville HomeDepot were very helpful and pleasant. My dad seems to enjoy this model quite a bit. He has used it on a number of occasions and feels that it will last a long time. The quality is top notch, which is exactly what you would expect of Dewalt. Although expensive when compared to the alternatives, it is worth the extra money!
