It took a couple days to get the planer set up an adjusted. This is the first time I have used a planer since high school, I am 70 now. Anyhow the planer worked fine, I just had to go slow and think things through several times

This was for my wife and she absolutely loves this! If there is a downfall, it’s real messy. We made a chip can, which helped, but still not perfect. We do everything outside right now, so not a problem. The pic is old barnwood.

I just bought this thickness planer, and I’m totally impressed with its capabilities. Right out of the box, everything was flat, level and dialed in properly. Attached the exhaust vent and the elevation dial and I was in business. Every board came out flat and true. I would highly recommend this thickness planer for anyone, hobbyist or pro.

I’ve been using the planer for a month now and I’m very happy with the product. It only took a few minutes to setup out if the box. Very easy to use. I’ve ran 8” wide by 5’ long poplar boards through with no snipe.

The DeWalt 734 planer is well built and came out of the box ready to use with minimal adjustment. Very pleased with the purchase: compact, powerful, about as simple as it gets with just enough features to get the finished product you want. Not sure how I got along without a planer before. Unless you have a dedicated space to sit this planer, I would strongly recommend the Dewalt planer mobile base to go with it–the planer is fairly heavy to move around.

This planer worked great right out of the box!

I have had this planer for about 2 months and it does a great job with planing boards. The bar those a great job to minimize the snipe and leaves a very smooth surface. I mainly use this planer on hardwoods such as walnut, birch and oak and it as no problem with cutting through these boards where as my other planer would not cut hard woods at all which is why I upgraded to this planer. I would highly recommend this planer to anyone!

This planer is my favorite workshop tool for making my cutting boards – saves me an hour or more in sending every time. Smooth – perfect lines every time. I love it. Heavy – so make sure it’s somewhere easy to move if you need to.

Worked great right out of the box

Works great I have used it several times and I’ve only had it for a couple weeks. One suggestion when installing chip discharge the single bottom screw is difficult to get to. Simply carefully tip the planer on its feed side and it’s easy to install.

Worked as expected

For the dust shroud. The instructions said to remove three screws. After searching for too long I discovered they were not installed but in a small package taped to the shroud.(they are SMALL screws.
