I bought the 12.5 ” planer about a month ago. The planer works great on hard wood (oak and Walnut) ect. . It sucks when trying to plane Pine. When I plane pine, the long stringy cuttings keep getting clogged up in the planer and the dust collecting shoot/port .Instead of it snapping on/off it ( the shaving/dust) port is held on by 3 of the tiniest little screws that when dropped into the sawdust you best have a magnet on hand to find them. My eyes aren’t what they used to be( speaking from experience). Picture coming when I get a chance. I’m retired and have been working with planers since I was a kid so I know how to run one.

I bought this 15 years ago and have run thousands of feet of lumber through it. I’ve changed the blades a dozen times. Several breakdowns were easy to fix. Still works like new.

Just opening the box, no user manual, and this website is terrible. I assumed there would be a pdf for the manual on the website……but it sure isn’t easy to find if there is one.

Yes it’s the old model but even though it’s very accurate and clean finishI compare it with many brands and I see it’s the best choice, I do recommend it

After about 30 passes of 10″ wide Hickory at 40″ lengths my blades dulled. I glued together Hickory flooring, some of the boards had a prefinish on them while others were raw wood. Could it be the polyurthane finish that I planed off of some of the boards that caused them to dull prematurely?Note: I only removed 1/64th per pass. I cut down edges to make the boards the same width prior to planing. The boards eventually stopped feeding through as expected, this caught my attention. That is when I noticed the shaving were more like saw dust rather that shavings which lead me to the conclusion that the lack of feeding was most likely due to dull blades.Thoughts? Thanks, Brian

Meets all expectations. You won’t be disappointed!

It snipes quite a bit. Tried building an input / output feeder to see if that would help. It doesn’t. Have to sacrifice pieces ahead and behind to get quality.

I’m using the planer to rebuild my storm windows. It is working beautifully.
