Love it, it is smooth, finished looking and have not noticed any blemishes as of yet.. it’s a great planer and is a bit heavy but portable if needed.

I’ve had this machine for a few months now and have ran many board feet through it and it consistently performs flawless and spot on accurate. I’ve owned several bench-top/portable planers in the past and this one out performs all of them. I highly recommend this machine for anyone that cares about the quality of their work.

I got this at the local home depot. I read the directions, but really opened box up and used right away. I am very happy with its construction, especially the out feed tables. I had absolutely no issues and it performed flawlessly. The depth gauge was right on. I planed some walnut and it was extremely smooth. I wanted the 3 blade planer at minimum. I experienced absolutely no snipe, this is without any adjustments. I have alot of Dewalt tools and find the quality on par with any other company competing in their market. I find them extremely qualified in the production in wood related tools. I had a portable Delta planer for about 10 years but the post rusted and it became hard to raise and lower. That one was a nice planer, did not have outfeed tables built in. These tables are very important and they are sturdy!

Love the planer. Does a great job. Use it every day to get the right thicknesses and to make wood smooth as glass.

I just bought this planer today for something that I screwed up on. It work it’s magic like a charm. The only thing is I don’r have a big collection system for the chips. OIt does require something bigger than my Shop Vac. Filled it pretty quickly. Other than that I recommend this tool for anyone that needs to planer lumber.

Upgraded from 2 to 3 blade and glad I did, finishes much better. Adjustments are precise. Great planer. Old time DYIs be aware to wear hearing protection because it’s damagingly loud.

I’ve always wanted a planer. I finally broke down and got one after reviewing many options. The DeWalt seemed to be the best value. It worked great. My 5 treasure boxes for my grandchildren turned out really well earning me lots of praise from their parents.

I’ve run a couple hundred feet through the planer so far. Mostly old barn wood planks. The cutting head delivers a nice smooth cut. The feeder rollers are not great.

I’ve been considering a benchtop planer for about 10 years now, I finally got sick of hand planing and broke down. I looked at several, most at lower price points, but the construction of the Dewalt seemed best. I spent a bit more for this machine, but I’m so glad I did. One of the complaints I saw was that the dust collection system isn’t so good- this hasn’t been my experience. I do recommend gradually taking material off, I found if I take too much off at once the dust collector does get a bit overwhelmed, but I don’t think that’s a problem with the machine, per se. For comparison’s sake I ran a couple of boards through without my shop vac on and there was a big difference from having it on, which leads me to think that the system works fine. I highly recommend connecting to 20A service if you have it; I currently only have 15A going to my garage and I’ve blown the breaker more than a few times. I highly recommend this product.

Read a lot of reviews on all types and brands of planers and has decided on purchasing a Dewalt planer, now do I purchase a DW734 or DW735, thinking of the sizes of boards that I will be using 12″ wide is going to be about the widest I would need to plane (which is actually 11 1/2″ wide) help me with my decision in picking the DW734 plus it was $200.00 cheaper. No regrets, been using it for a month now and very happy with my decision.

Plane very sturdy and heavy. Planes very smoothly and came out of the box very accurate, I did not have to make any adjustments to either the depth gauge nor the fold out beds. Turret stops work well when working with thin material and ensures uniform thickness for all your pieces. There are two downside to this product, one is the dust collection. Do not use the provided dust collection piece as it will just clog up your planer from a single board and you will not be able to run anything through. I just get the broom out after every job, as annoying as it is, this is the only way to run the machine smoothly.Second downside is the dept adjustment gauge. It comes off the ruler quite a bit so it is hard to determine what thickness you are at. You have to always look at it at the exact same head position or else you will get inconsistent results as the gauge will look different depending on how you are looking at it.Overall a quality product that planes boards very smoothly with some downsides but is ultimately made well and does the job well.
