On my third set of these and they just don’t hold an edge long when planing hardwood (ash,oak). Also seems like they nick easily. I’m going to try a less expensive after-market knife next.

Nothing is better then sharp planer knives. I use my planer a lot and never use knives that are not sharp. The knives are easy to install and really make a difference in the finished product.

They work and fit as expected in my planer DW734. Wish the better blades were more affordable, but these blades are better than my last pair only because my last set hot some metal for some odd reason

Like everyone else is saying, they work great when brand new, but after about an hour they need to be changed out or the machine struggles. They dull and nick very quickly, and i was using new pine boards. I will look at other brands.

These Dewalt knives are always sharp and work very well on clean lumber. As many of know M2 steel only stays sharp until something harder causes a nick. Being double sided is a bonus in that you can use a kicked side to plane rough lumber and then turn the knives over for the final passes for smooth finishes. I have found that I can using a diamond sharpener to remove bad nicks, but you lose the precision for final demissions and have to install a un-nicked set for final passes.For the price these are very good knives.
