The 13 in. thick Corded Planer from DEWALT provides excellent surface finish with a 3-knife cutter head that delivers a 30% longer knife life and makes changing them out more seamless. Its powerful 15 Amp, 20,000 RPM (10,000 RPM cutter head speed) motor executes 96 or 179 cuts per in. for a quick and efficient solution. It handles larger cuts in wider materials with ease.

I have owned this planner for several years and and have had no issues. I have planed both soft and hard woods with equal results. Snipe was minimal and adjustment of depth of cut easy. This is a great planer for Hobbist, small shops and DIY wood worker. This would be an excellent planer if it came with sprial carbide planer head. That would enable it for heavier use.

I bought this used from someone I thought I would give it a try. Before using it, I replaced all three blades and waxed the table. This planer does an incredible job I want most boards that I have used it for. The only issue I have with this planer is that on wider boards I am getting snipe on the right side of the board not just at the beginning and end of the board but also throughout the board. It does not do this on smaller narrower pieces of wood, only on wider pieces.

The planer does an excellent job and the product coming out the other side is smooth initially. The design and ease of use is great. The main issue I have is not with the planer itself, more the durability of the blades. I have found that it did not take long (one day, three hours) for the blades to have nicks on them which in turn resulted in lines on the boards. Adjusting the blades helped temporarily. Better quality / more durable blades would certainly be beneficial as the planer can become extremely noisy when they lose their edge. I recommend the planer, just need to find decent blades.

Before I bought the DW 735, I did a lot of research and talked to a lot of woodworkers and sales people. I’m happy that I listened to them! I run a small woodworking shop and this is plenty of machine for my tight budget and small shop. Love the 2 speeds. If used correctly, they deliver advantages other planers in this class doesn’t. In particular, an almost glass finish on white oak. I especially like the dust port, but make sure to secure your hose! I wasn’t prepared for how much power the dust exhaust has!

I purchased this planer based on reviews both on store websites and via Instagram. This is the first dewalt planer I have used and within a few minutes of taking it out of the box I was in business! The cutting depth adjustment is super smooth and accurate, the wood glides effortlessly through, and not a single chip in my hardwoods (some of which are notorious for chipping during planing.) It is quite heavy, I believe the box said 92lbs so I wouldn’t plan on it being something you set up and put away every time unless you will rarely use it and don’t have the space for a dedicated spot for it. I’d recommend either buying the cart or building one like I did. I do wish I got the kit that came with the infeed and outfeed tables, but I plan on building some rollers for it and having longer tables anyway. This is the biggest tool purchase I have ever made and I couldn’t be happier with it!

I tried several other planers over the years and this one is the best . I have a small working shop and limited on space so I have alot of my tools on wheels, roll them out and roll them back out of the way when done. I have used the 735 for years and never had any problems very powerful and dependable.The person that broke there dust collection fiting must have been forcing it on wrong for it to break. Mine gets moved around with a 4 inch hose conected and never a problem.

This is really not a review but hopefully it will get to Dewalt’s attention! I love everything about the reviews on the planer but I really want a spiral cutting head and will not buy this planer until it becomes available without having to go aftermarket! The aftermarket spiral cutting head looks like a lot of work and expense to install!When does Dewalt plan on installing its own spiral cutting head?

I’ve had this planer for little over 8 months now and absolutely love it. I’ve planed tons of rough cut hardwood like it was cutting through butter. My only complaint is that I have trouble planing boards longer than 8ft. alone, but I’m pretty sure if I buy roller bars for the lumber, the problem can be fixed. Snipe is kept at a minimum, so I’m always saving that extra inch of lumber. Otherwise, I really enjoy this tool.

I bought this 6 months ago because I could not buy a full size. I have never been happier, cuts so clean and smooth and when you change to 196 cuts. It is as smooth as using a scraper. Amazing finish. Use to cut Hardwoods all the time.
