The 13 in. thick Corded Planer from DEWALT provides excellent surface finish with a 3-knife cutter head that delivers a 30% longer knife life and makes changing them out more seamless. Its powerful 15 Amp, 20,000 RPM (10,000 RPM cutter head speed) motor executes 96 or 179 cuts per in. for a quick and efficient solution. It handles larger cuts in wider materials with ease.
- 19-3/4 in. cast aluminum base that is 2x more rigid than a standard 10 in. base and folding tables
- 2-speed gear box that allows users to change the feed speed for optimal cuts of the particular material with which you’re working
- Fan-assisted chip ejection vacuums that chips off of the cutter head and exhausts them out of the machine
- Automatic carriage lock that reduces the movement that causes snipe
- Extra large thickness scale that delivers accurate cuts with every pass
- Extra large turret depth stop that allows you to return to your most frequently used thicknesses with ease

Excellent planner. Set up took lass than 5 minutes and I was working on a project in 10 minutes. Clean cuts, easy to adjust depth.

It works fine, but there is a rattling noise coming from it and it seems to eject material downward instead up and out.

Great finish, very little snipe

I bought this a few months ago a little cautiously as I wasn’t sure if I really needed it. Turns out I use it a couple of times a week. It is very easy to use and works great..

I purchased the DeWalt DW735 with the extension shelves and to date I am very pleased. Tested it out on some scrap pieces as well as some full 4/4 stock in Hickory and Maple it did an excellent job, no sniping which was my major worry with a lower end planar. It does appear however that I may need to remount the cutter blades as when I tried to plane a 12 1/2″ wide piece with a 1 1/2″ thickness I did get some sniping which appears to only happen on the left hand side of the planar so my thought process is that side appears to be about .0156″ lower than the right side of the planar based on my caliper measurement. I have had NO sniping on boards 8″ in width or narrower so overall I an very pleased with its performance and the sniping I have experienced can easily be sanded out.

I have had this planer for over a year and have put a lot of boards through. Rough lumber comes out very smooth and requires little sanding. I recommend attaching the folding table to help with snipe. This planer also disassembles very easily for cleaning and changing the blade.

Hoping it won’t be a waste of money. Just starting my workshop. Great machine.

I’ve had this planer for several years now, and it has served me very well in my furniture and cabinet making. One of the biggest issues I’ve run into with other planers is the snipe that can occur at the end of each pass, but the carriage design on the DW735 nearly eliminates snipe. I’ll still get a little depending on how much material I’m taking off in a single pass, but it’s never been more than a little sanding can correct. Also, I was dreading having to change the blades, but found it to be a very simple and straightforward task. The blades are self setting—simply drop them in and tighten securely, and they are aligned just right on the cutterhead. This has been a great investment for my shop, and I’d recommend to anyone looking for a well-built and dependable machine.

I purchased this because I had a one many years ago and this new one meets all expectations.

Great addition to the shop! A bit of paste wax on the bottom plate does wonders for planing damp wood.

I have had my planer for over 6 years. I have run thousands of board feet through it and it’s still going strong. It has also saved my thousands of dollars. When we retired we moved in to an old Acadian style home in the woods. The interior walls were all Sheetrock and really didn’t reflect the style we wanted. We decided to the inside in to a log cabin. I can get rough cut lumber for 1/4 of the price of milled lumber and plane it down smooth. I use latex caulk for chinking and now my walls are gorgeous. I make rustic furniture for friends and family using rough cut pine, oak, or pecan using the planer to create whatever dimensions I want. The dual sided blades last a decent amount of time and can be rersharpened once by a professional. I have gone through lots of them. I had to replace a drive belt once but it was relatively easy and I learned not to force the blades to do more than they can. I clean the feed rollers often because they get caked with pine sap but that’s just regular maintenance for me. I have definitely gotten my money worth and if it breaks tomorrow I will go get a new one just like it. Thank you DEWALT!

I’ve run a ton of red oak through it. The finish that this machine produced (even without the “finish” cut toggle turned on) is amazing! The machine is very well made. Some say the outfeed table is a design flaw. Yes it could be have been made to stay up, but when you wrap the chord around the machine for storage, it keeps the outfeed table up with ease. It’s really no problem at all!The 4” dust fan ejection is awesome, but your shop vac won’t keep up. I recommend a 90 degree 4” elbow, and a “dust right” dust collector bag. Works great for me.Can’t say it enough. Super happy with this machine.

I bought this recently and I am happy with everything it does, only weird thing is, since the first time I turned it on, it runs as if there were a set of keys spinning around inside. It comes and goes and at first I thought maybe it was the thickness gauge rattling but it is not. The planer runs great, does everything a planer should. It really expels the chips out. But every time I turn it on, especially when the machine is starting for the first time that day, it just jingles as if something is loose. I checked the key, NO, and I even opened up the top and did a quick check on all the locks holding in the rollers. I can’t for the life of me figure out why it jingles. And it only jingles for about 10 seconds. Sometimes it comes and goes as I am milling the wood through. Kinda worried and disappointed as it was a real ordeal for me to finally buy one o these and I chose this one over the RIGID as the reviews claimed it was better built. Hopefully customer service can help me out, it is not even a month old and it still does it.

Had the 733 for a year now but I was the 3rd owner of a well used machine. It was a good first planer but I wanted something better and in better condition. The 735x was delivered and after I pushed all 105 lbs of it into the garage I unboxed it. Everything was smooth. It’s solid. It was magestic and I didn’t even turn it on yet.Planed my first board and noticed a few things immediately. It was a super smooth feed. It was quieter than the 733. Boards came out buttery smooth. It didn’t vibrate across the shop floor. I had fallen in love with a machine. Extremely happy with it. Glad I used the 733 first so I could fully appreciate the 735. one if my favorite tools now. Thanks Dewalt!

Excellent product, start to finish. Wood emerges with an almost glass-like surface.
