The old blades were quite dull and the boards coming out of the planer were no longer smooth. It only took a few minutes to replace the old blades with one of the two sets that I purchased and I ran a board through for a quick check and the new blades made the machine operate like new. It was nice to get two sets of blades at one time so I can have on on hand when I need them, and the price break when buying two sets at a time was a real plus.
