The tool is great and cuts very smoothly. The quick release blade changing is a pleasure, my other two saws are not nearly as efficient. It fits perfectly on the metal stand I purchased with it. The downfall I have noticed about the Dewalt scroll saw is the blade clearance opening on the metal platform top, the blades is offset and and gets pushed into metal top when cutting. Again, the blade does sit centered, so I was forced to wedge a rubber shim in the tilt adjustment area in order for it to not rub. This issue is pretty frustrating, as it seems it should not be an issue at all. I read reviews claiming the same thing before I bought the tool, and sure enough it’s true. I will enjoy this tool for many years to come, but when the time comes for to purchase another professional grade saw I will likely seek another brand. We shall see.

I had a Delta for 7 years. Decided to try Dewalt mainly because the last time I went to a wood working show, everyone in the scroll saw section had this saw. I found it no better but no worse than the Delta with one exception. The Dewalt does not have an upper arm lock. You have to wedge something under the arm to hold it up when you change the blade. A bit of a pain.
