This worklight is really nice. The picture shown on the Home Depot advertisement is the older model, the newer model has a solid rod that extends about 10 inches making it more rigid (see my picture). To clarify, you are buying the NEWER model, not the one HD shows but the one in installed in my picture. This keeps it from sagging or moving when working, an improvement over the older model that used to drupe down from the vibration of the scroll saw. Also immediately replace the incandescent bulb that is included with it with an LED E17 reflector bulb. I chose a 5 Watt (50W Incendescent Equivalent),Cool White 6500K that works well for me. It’s much brighter and runs cool and is about $8 online. (the 25 watt that come with the light is a filler bulb, it’s very dim and get really hot and it’s right next to your face).

Very glad I got the light. With sale price on saw was able to include light in purchase at no extra cost.Illuminates well and looks great.

Read a lot of complaints about this light. It’s not the best design, but it serves its purpose and fits well. DeWalt fixed the flexible arm by making the first 1/3 of the arm rigid. I’ve had no issues with it staying in place. The bulb style is an R14 if you need a brighter replacement or an LED

This light should come with the Dewalt DW788 Scroll Saw. It just comes to the blade when fully extended and needs to be about six inches longer. It is just bright enough to be useful. I like that it has it’s own plug so if you use a foot pedal to turn the saw on and off, the light stays on all the time.

Easy to assemble. One front mounting screw hole in the saw rounded out before the screw was totally in the hole. The threads in the hole did not match the threads on the screw provided. Not a big problem at this point.

Easy to bolt onto the dewalt scroll saw. No wiring required. Just plug in to the outlet. Could be a bit brighter.

The light shines onto the work perfectly. It has been a good choice for me.

The light you get is different than the picture. DeWalt seems to have solved the “drooping” problem with the flexible gooseneck by adding a 10 inch non-flexible section from the base up to about half of the length of the “neck”. The mounting bracket is also shaped differently so it mounts to the saw a lot easier than the old light. The shade is also fluted part way for heat dispersal. So, the only issue for some people is the small 25 watt bulb may be too dim. It is a “flood” type bulb with a small base that you can get a replacement LED bulb, but I don’t have a problem with it as it seems bright enough even for my 63 year old eyes. I like the fact that this is made specifically for the DeWalt scroll saw, and it does come with DeWalts 3 year warranty, for a small work light, that’s pretty good. I realize some reviewers didn’t give this very high reviews, but I think that was with the older version of the light. They give a a special tool to remove two screws on the saw for mounting the light. Those screws are TIGHT, be careful. I added a picture so people can see the difference in the light you get vs the advertisement. Seriously, the light is well worth the money. Sorry for the messy bench.

I would have rated this work light as excellent but the bulb that came with the light is an incandescent small flood light which get really really hot after just a few minutes. I changed the bulb out for a really really bright led bulb which does not get hot, and which, gives offer a daylight type light rather than a dull yellow light which came with the worklight. Because it had an intermediate Edison screw in (not so common), I paid another $8 for the bulb swap. I will say however, that the worklight fixture fit my DeWalt dw788 scroll saw perfectly, as it was desight to attach to that particular saw. The fit, finish, and even the heavy duty 3 prong cord are excellent in quality and appearance. I would even be willing to pay a little more for the worklight if it came with a quality LED light bulb.Overall, I am very pleased with this worklight.

Great addition to a great saw, stand combo.

This is a must for small work. Position the light correctly and you get no shadow from the blade, without it you might start following the shadow instead of the line.
