Powerful but comparatively light. Wish it had a type 1 guard available

I have several 4 1/2 inch grinders. This is my first experience with a bigger grinder and it is amazing how much better this grinder works. This grinder is one of the best additions that I have added to my shop. Pretty amazing!

A bit on the heavy side, but it does the work well. Gets pretty hot quickly. I don’t think it’s good for it to put that much stress on the motor. Grinding concrete anyway

I used this product with Shroud DWE 46170 and a diamond wheel; the combination worked fine. Assembly of shroud to grinder was difficult. I gave up on the instructions and found my own way to put them together. I also had a problem turning the grinder on and off. Gripping the handle and pushing the button in with my thumb was difficult. Maybe my hand was too small. Holding the unit with only one side mounted handle is awkward. Grinding would be improved if the handle were mounted above the shroud. I found it was necessary to purchase a DWV 9000 in order to connect the shroud to the hose. This information should have been provided when I ordered the shroud. I had to pay another shipping charge and wait a few days before it arrived and I could use the grinder.

I have had my DW840 (7″, type 2) for about 10 years, I believe. I have used it to cut both metal and stone. Well pleased with the way it has performed. I’ve never had an issue with it. I would not hesitate to go back to your company when I get my disc sander. Is their a disc that can be used with my grinder for sanding?

Working at a welding shop for a scrap yard this tool gets used a ton. It holds up in the worst environment and the guys love it. I use a lot of different tool site on the internet and Home Depot has the best price on power tool like this. I saved $85 on this tool even after I revived my “special” pricing from the other shops.

I haven’t used it yet. The box was beat up and the wrenches we’re missing. I had the wrenches sent from DeWalt. I am pretty sure it will work just fine.
