I never been big on brand names, but I’m in the middle of a house rehab and using my oversize drill was killing me. I purchased one of these for a friend and after his rave reviews I had to have one. And, boy and I glad I got this one. It’s light weight and powerful, and I haven’t picked up my heavy drill since. It got the power for drilling and screwing all sizes of screws and light enough to remove electrical socket and light switch plates. I gotten so use to the tool I keep it with me no matter what job I’m doing. Absolutely great tool.

Do I think that this is a great tool? Did I just special order my 3rd one because they no longer carry it in the store? Do I think that the designers messed up with the new ones? Yes to all. I use this primarily at work to disassemble interiors of vehicles, (I work on the electronic systems hidden behind your dash). I also had one for at home to carry in my tool belt when I am working to run electric, phone, and data lines. Do you know how many screws and bolts hold you dash together? Do you know how long they are. Do you know how quickly you wrist will fall off doing it by hand?Tool Features that I like:1. 2 (count them) bit clips. This is my Best feature. Left side holds the bit driver for a 1/4 inch drive, (why have special sockets just for the tool when I have a whole box of Snap-on sockets that I can use?) The other clip holds a Philips bit, (the tool comes with 1 Philips and 1 Straight bits). I can even install a 3/8 socket adapter and this tool has the power to run them. You are lucky if the new ones have even 1 clip.2. Torque – Adjustable. Too many of the new drivers leave this feature off, (they even brag about the Extra Torque delivered when you bottom out. Yeah, that’s what I need, extra torque on a metal screw into a 10 year old plastic dash. That’s why the adjustment is critical for me; (plastic to plastic – 4; plastic to metal – 7; full metal – full torque. (I watch a special on manufacturing and guess which tool they were using at Maytag? And you could hear that he had the torque set from the clutch noise.)3. Bit release: Push towards the tool and the bit Does NOT shoot across the room. Why is the new trend towards pulling the release away from the tool. And I know, I know, the contractor has just stripped his bit and will shoot it on the floor for the carpet installer to clean up; but I don’t need to keep chasing my bits.4. Battery – still Ni-Cd. But I had Interstate come up with a TOL2101 that is 1.8 Ah, (I change batteries on Monday)5. Durable: Have had mine since 2007 and don’t ask me how far down a latter that it can fall and not break, (haven’t found out yet)As I said, I have 1 for work and 1 for home and my old mechanic had one; but he retired and took it with him. So now my new mechanic likes to brag about how fast he is with a ratchet until he got tired of working his wrist off, (I told you, its a different world inside the car), and hearing me walk over to a vehicle and he knew that every time he heard a pause that was a screw out. I usually did 5 or 6 to his 1. So of course he started borrowing mine. We tried to find them in the store but no, outdated. So I brought my home one in. Was going to replace mine for home with one of the new ones but that bit shooting feature just teed me off. So I ordered one. (boy does someone from Staples need to teach Home Depot how to order something from Home Depot online in the store with cash. The service girl made an order on homedepot.com, gave the amount to the sales register guy who sold me a custom gift card and then gave it to her to complete the order. Staples: “Hey Harry, could you get me this 2 TB drive for me.” Sure, deliver it to home or office?” “Will that be cash or CC?” “oh, cash? sure” Done.Someone needs to talk to an assembler the next time they want to re-design a tool because this one had it right and the new ones missed it.

Great tool! Only drawback is the ability to use standard chuck drill bits. Highly recommend this product.

I bought this cordless screwdriver for reloading- to put a case holder in and spin the brass for various steps. It’s a DeWalt, so that pretty much sums it up! I like it a lot, I am not sure why Home Depot is the only source for this tool…. but I would recommend it. It seems to review better than many of the other cordless screwdrivers, and I would have to agree.I would certainly purchase it again.

This screw driver is great. I used it to install a heater core on a 2000 Jeep grand Cherokee which means removing whole dash and steering column. I dropped it about 3 times and still was ok. It did the job on 1 battery with out recharging. I was able to get in tight spots too.The shipping was exact and free. The weight wasn’t an issue, it was so comfortable to use on 30 screws and bolts. I just love it.

This purchase was a replacement for one of the same which gave up after 10 years of regular usage. In the few days between ordering and receiving my sidekick there were several occasions when I wished it were available to use.Great quality, flexibility and size for many, many applications.

I have owned this cordless screwdriver for over a decade and it always surprises me how powerful, versatile and rugged it is. Over the years I have owned many other cordless screwdrivers and none hold a candle to this beast. The DW920 has the best set of features around: plenty of torque settings (including a drill mode), TWO bit holders and nice big easy to use controls. Mine has taken a number of tumbles over the years and has been banged around more than it should have- and it still works great. In my opinion the DW920 is the gold standard that every other cordless screwdriver wishes it could be.
