DeWalt blades are definitely more durable and fit the oscillator better than any other brand. It would be nice if we could purchase them in store but they seem to only be available on HomeDepot.com

I have used it 4-5 times with drywall and studs so far and the sharpness seems to be holding out

This blade gets about a 3 for thick gauge metal/forms and a 5 for thin gauge sheet metal. expensive for what it does as it wears out fast! 4-5 bolts or one piece of 1.5×2 L channel and its done… doesn’t matter if you go slow or fast.. I’ve found that Oscillating tool cutters just don’t have it when it comes to thick metal cutting operations. I try to stay with OEM, but I’ve also tried probably a dozen different manufacturers’ blades and they all work fine for mild steel nails in wood or thin gauge/sheet metal, but that seems to be it. Hit stainless deck screws or tackle grade 8 hardware and there’s less action and more smoking… This Dewalt is no different. One would think that DeWalt would turn their brains on and realize that a major part of satisfaction with any tool is its ability to do the job-which includes the drill bits and blades-so would actually design and built working level blades/bits-but nope. they build a good tool, ok but not great batteries for tools (cycle times and life duration are only middling good), but then only make mediocre level, overpriced blades/bits… Oscillating tools have a niche use, but that niche could be bigger if they did better on the cutting parts… So my personal opinion is that if space permits, you are many orders of magnitude ahead of game & get the job done way faster and easier by just grabbing your saws-all with good blades (i.e. the red ones.. ;-0) wish they made Oscillating tool blades). nuff said…

Slow cutting but easy cutting of Al and Cu metals. I do not know about Fe and I am sure nothing would work as good as this for cutting semi hard metals.
