The mid handle makes this unit extremely easy to balance. It’s a powerful drill, the variable speed trigger is easy to control, and the keyless chuck works great. I’m glad I bought it. One of the motivations was the case, which is a nice added value. That’s still true, as the other drills I was cross shopping didn’t offer a case. However, the DeWalt case is not really all that useful (I own other tools, with better cases.) They should provide a clearer place for cord storage (this doesn’t) AND provide a spot for necessities – like a case of drill bits.

I’m in my 50s and was looking for something that would be easier to use for longer periods to cut down on fatigue, but not give up power. This is the best at both. I love the ease of the chuck, the fact that the low profile allows for getting close to the edge, the balance of the weight and the simple level. Sounds nice too. The only thing I would love to see is a bit holder and second level for the Y axis too. Right now this is the perfect drill for me.

This drill works great. It is pretty strong and is plugged in. you will need an extension cord most times. the nice thing about this is that it doesn’t have to use battery but at the same time, having a corded drill is kind of annoying. i’m not sure if i would have bought a cordless one if i had to do it over. regardless great drill for what I paid.

Strong, well balanced, drill. This is a DRILL, not a screwdriver. If it had torque adjustable settings, then it would be OUTSTANDING, but it doesn’t. Generally higher priced corded drill/driver or cordless drill/driver will have that feature. But, for drilling, it is a really good purchase. Nice not having to purchase replacement batteries on a regular basis, if it was cordless.

The ratcheting chuck holds well without needing a strong grip, and torque is plentiful compared to my 20-year-old Craftsman that just started to wear out after drilling 50 1/2″ holes through landscaping timbers. My only complaints, however minor, are that the direction switch could be easier to use, and the chuck doesn’t spin quite true — though it doesn’t effect functionality.
