I have used it mainly for simple bathroom renos like putting up shelves, new towel bars and toilet paper holder and a mirrored vanity cabinet. It is lightweight and very easy to change out the bits. The level was a nice suprise!

As a drill it is good value and powerful for the priceAs a screwdriver it is nearly useless for anything but rough carpentryThe trigger is touchy, there is no clutch and it is too easy to blow the slots (or any other connection on the screw), lose control of the drill damaging the wood.I bought a corded drill because it may sit for 5+ months at a time and I tired of throwing out batteries because they have depleted. I wouldn’t buy this drill again for general use..If all you want to do is drill holes fast…its great.

I first purchased the Dewalt Drill with the same power/torque and motor as the 3/8-Inch Heavy-Duty VSR Mid-Handle Drill Kit, but it was a pistol style drill with the handle at one end and all the weight of the motor at the other end. Strong drill but way to heavy at the front end. I spotted the Dewalt 3/8-Inch Heavy-Duty VSR Mid-Handle Drill Kit online on HD’s WEB Site and ordered it after having returned the other drill to my local HD store. The Dewalt 3/8-Inch Heavy-Duty VSR Mid-Handle Drill Kit can only be bought online.Anyways, same great drill motor and performance as the first Dewalt Drill but with a mid-handle, the drill is perfectly balanced in the hand and much easier to utilise. Bonus, for a few dollars more, the Dewalt 3/8-Inch Heavy-Duty VSR Mid-Handle Drill Kit comes with a tough hard shell case. Great buy!

I like the feel of the drill in my hand. It is well balanced and easy to use. I especially like the chuck. It is easy to tighten the drill bit into the chuck. It feels so smooth and the ratchet mechanism allows for easy tightening and releasing.(The drill bit does not slip as it does in some of my other drills.)

This is a powerful drill. At first I thought it was larger than my other drills, but it is about the same size and weight. I really like this version of the keyless chuck… easy to use with a positive lock. I bought it as an upgrade and for the balance of a mid-handle drill. After using it on a project or two, I am very pleased with my purchase. As some reviewers noted… it may not be your best option for putting in screws. As I said, it is a powerful drill.
