The drill is a bit heavy, but its very powerful. I cant expect less from a 10 Amp Drill anyway. So far i bave no issue with it. I apparently did my research as to what my requirements were and the perfect tool to match these requirements. On that note, I would recommend to anyone making a purchase; to first access the different scenarios to which the tool (s) will be used and try to find such a make. When buying tools also, don’t buy cheap or (don’t make money be the driving factor for your purchase decision.)

I have purchased several drills at Home Depot to use my Irwin drills to make 1/2″ to 3″ holes for wiring and pipes but returned all of them.My Costco Craftsman 18 volt cordless drill was doing the job. I eventually came to a bigger job and my cordless just could not do the job so looked at a lot of corded drills.I saw the Dewalt 1/2″. Some reviews were good but some bad but I took a chance and ordered it.I am 58 and my arms are not what they used to be. Several times the drill stuck and if I didn’t have the handle braced against the wall I know I would of broke my arm. This thing is a beast. It has so much power that I really have to respect the tool and make sure that I plan my drilling so that I can hold it.I do agree with one previous review about the chuck. If I am drilling close to a wall and the chuck comes in contact with the wall it will release the drill. Again I just have to plan my work and it does not happen.I have had the drill now for three months and have used it a lot. Everything seems to be going fine.Check back in 5 years and see if it still going. Other Dewalts I owned did not survive and my best drill was a Bosch that I purchased 15 years ago and lasted 13 years.

I thought buying corded and and paying $100+ would last at least a few years. But it didn’t. Not even for normal home projects. It it very heavy and strong but needs to last longer.

Fit nice in the hand, not to heavy, and great control with the attachable handle.

The drill is everything I dreamed!

The product is very powerful, and is definitely capable of doing all its made to do. Very reliable, and has great drilling performance. The only downside to this drill is the weight of it but that is expected from such a heavy duty drill. Also, it did not come with a carrying case, which is to bad, however it does get an A+ rating from me.

Drill has a lot of power, trigger is a little sensitive which is troublesome when mixing a pail of mud. Otherwise it’s a very solid constructed drill.

Needed something that had enough power to run lag bolts into the side of the house for the ledger board for the deck. This had more than enough power to do the job.

Drill has a lot of power. The only thing I don’t like is that the metal casing gets quite hot during use. Almost too hot to touch.

Great drill, but not from Home Depot. Drill was marred up like it was used. Packaging was nothing but a shelf box.

The balance and the ergonomics of this drill make it easy to use with one hand. The power is nothing less than great. The adjustable side handle makes it very easy to use two hands where necessary and it is very easy to remove. The one issue I was leery about was the keyless chuck but it works great so far. Basically for the price it is hard to beat for what you get.I really like this drill so far. Having said this I have a cordless drill for other tasks. This one is to do my heavier work and so far so good. It works like it should which means I can keep my focus on the project rather than wishing I had something else to do the job.

Nice and powerful. Weight is more than I expected, but a good feel.

Good heavy duty drill. I like the center handle. It has lots of power, good variable speed and like the keyless chuck. Shipping was very quick and liked the ease of ordering on-line.

I am disappointed that the drill does not even have a case that can be purchased for it.

This is similar to the drill I had that died. Only complaint is that the gearing in the chuck is such that it occasionally releases the bit which then has to be removed from the workpiece. The older version did not have this problem. Otherwise an excellent drill.

This is a Christmas present for my Dad, so he can help me (his daughter) mend wooden horse-fencing this Spring. I think he, I mean it, is going to work out just fine. ha Great gift. Wouldn’t you agree?

The is one POWERFUL drill. It can handle just about any job around the farm. So why the low rating? Because I expected this to be an investment. For the big price and the DeWalt name, I would have expected at least ten years of service. No such luck. Never abused, etc. just up and quit.
