Lots of power, just had it a few days. Used it for 1″ Auger into a fresh tree trunk and 3/8 into a brick. No problem at all, may even be overkill. It makes sense to augment 18v tools with “more power”.No issues at all. Note that the price went up a bit!

Drill has withstood the times and a few good drops off a ladder or two.. is a heavy thing though and between that and its torque, it definitely is a two handed tool. Only bad aspect of it is the keyed jacobs chuck. I just replaced it with a keyless 7/8” for quick loading and to hold the bigger drills.. hammer action works well also, 13” of concrete, saved me a core drill..

Drill did not come in a case. After maybe 2 holes the drill stays in the brick and the chuck has to be tightened on the drill, then start the drill and back out. After maybe 3 holes in concrete the chuck gets so hot that the drill has to cool down in order to loosen the chuck. Drill is good but has its limitations.

This 10.5 amp drill takes a beating and keeps going. One time I tried to mix floor leveler that was too thick and saw smoke coming out of the drill. I immediately stopped and thought my drill was done for, only to find the next day it ran fine, and has been running fine for two years since. I’ve included a pic of this 5 year old drill to show you what it’s been through. Usually I don’t write reviews, but I’ve come here 5 years past purchase because I’m so impressed with this drill.

This was the first hammer drill I’ve purchased. After investigating all of the available options, Dewalt seemed to offer the power I needed to complete my job. I recently tore down an old deck and siding on the back of my house, the drill performed very well on all types of materials-poured concrete, foundation block and stucco. It made the work easy and quick-I then used the drill feature to attach the decking and bead board. I will continue to purchase Dewalt tools for all of my needs

I’ve never owned or used a hammer drill before. My ground floor exterior walls were described to me by the contractor as “pressure cast concrete that’s REALLY hard”. I didnt appreciate how hard until I needed a hole for some coax. After trying virtually every tool I own from hammer and chisel to various electric drills i bought this. Literally 10 minutes after it arrived the hole was drilled and I was connecting the coax.

Works well and is relativity light. The one thing I didn’t like was the way the side handle is attached. It clamps on directly behind the chuck and can slide forward a bit if you are not careful when adjusting it. This can allow the chuck to rub on the clamp and damage the chuck. It seems to me that they could have designed some kind of a stop that would prevent this.

Worked great on drilling holes into rock at the cottage. I had an 8 amp dewalt keyless chuck electric drill which couldn’t hold a bit at all, hence this purchase. Too bad dewalt hasn’t fixed this problem.
