powerful, light weight, easy to handle, better that the next up 5″ grinder. Using 4″ grinding disc’s, 7″ sanding disc’s. Best feature! Lock button to remove disc’s! It’s on the side, not the top, easy to use with your thumb. Top mount buttons on other grinders every hard to use, someone did there homework on this one! Thank an enginneer some where, he must of used one before.

An excellent tool that can handle anything. This grinder is an absolute beast. I am a DIYer and typically I have an internal debate as to whether or not I “need” the best pro tools vs. the good enough for one-time-use tools. I usually settle on the homeowner grade tools. But I had a hump of concrete in a new-construction basement bathroom rough-in that needed grinding down with a concrete grinding disk, and I didn’t want to skimp on power. Just as a baseline, I used my previous generic 5 amp grinder for about 5 minutes, before it overheated and basically melted itself into a non-working brick. This 13 Amp DeWalt barely gets warm to the touch grinding concrete for an extended period. I was worried that the longer design would make the tool less nimble and not conducive to tight spaces, but it has not been an issue. The handle could not be more comfortable, and doesn’t put any strain on the wrist, like some others I’ve held. Go to the store, put it in your hands, and hold it and see for yourself. The trigger feels completely natural and is easy to turn on and off without having to hunt for the switch. I like that it comes with 3 different size disk guards for multiple size disks. Best of all, this tool is assembled in the USA and proudly displays it on the tool. Good luck finding that from other brands. I have zero regrets about ponying up the extra dough for this superb tool, and I highly recommend it.

RIDGID was hands down my first choice, but they don’t offer a 4″ angle grinder other than there battery powered one, which I already have, and is the only RIDGID tool that I would NEVER recommend or buy again. I worked for Black and Decker/Dewalt for several years. The Dewalt angle grinder is bigger than I wanted, but not. I was more than pleasantly surprised to find out it was a multi-size angle grinder. It works well and even being larger than I wanted, was still light enough and comfortable to use.
