DeWalt has hit it out of the park again. This 6″ grinder is loaded with safety features, which is huge plus because grinders are notoriously a very dangerous tool. The supplied cutting guard, and grinding guard are very easy to use and are removed and adjusted without tools. The electronic brake is amazing as it does not allow the cutting wheel to continue rotating after releasing the trigger. DeWalt even added a lanyard attachment so that if the grinder was used when working at heights, it would not fall and possibly injure someone below. The grinder is built solid and obviously will last a long time. I love that it is brushless tool so there is no maintenance required. It is a very well balanced tool with plenty of power and ergonomics was certainly an important factor in the design of this grinder. Thanks DeWalt for another great tool!!!

Overall the sidegrinder is a well built tool but , would personal rather have the lock there are time when it’s needed being that the switch is close to the hand and without a guard at those few ecations it gets a little harry 🙂

Obviously this tool is corded, so that can be a ‘drag’. Bright green light on tool lets you know power is live; helpful, but almost too bright as it shines towards your eyes (eye protection reminder). No light towards work project.Heavy, but that equals heavy duty.Paddle switch is comfortable & easy to use.Very loud even with no blade & under no load (reminds you to use ear protection).Brushless motor is quick to start & stop. Powerful.Overall great if you are looking for a powerful corded grinder.

I have used numerous other grinders and found this to be my new go to for projects. I currently only have the cutoff wheel however the tool functions very well. I especially love the brake it’s instant power and once done the tool stops immediately. I have not used a grinder with this feature and it is very handy once you have the ability. It makes the tool feel safe knowing the wheel will stop as soon as you let off the paddle. The tool is light enough to use for hours however it feels very robust. I dropped the thing while grinding at an odd angle ( my fault completely)and the tool survived with no cosmetic issues.

DeWalt’s DWE43244N Heavy Duty Brushless Small Angle Paddle Switch Grinder is definitely that and more. The side handle can be switched for right- or left-handed use. When I used the side handle on the right side, I found the paddle switch and the safety lever awkward to use with my left hand, but when I switched the side handle to the left side, the paddle switch and safety lever were very easy to operate. In fact, the grinder felt as though it were custom fit for my hands. It doesn’t come with a case, which for me is a slight drawback, however the it does come equipped with a lanyard connection for use at heights that could also be used to hang up the angle grinder for storage when not in use. Safety features:Brake – when the paddle switch is released, the motor immediately stops, and electronic brakes stop the rotor from spinning within one second.DeWalt has E-Switch protection which means that the paddle switch must be cycled off then on to restart the grinder in the event of a power outage or other interruption in power. Especially helpful when the grinder shuts off and one lays it down to find out what happened, only to have power restored and the grinder restart without anyone holding it.While I haven’t had the opportunity to experience this next one, DeWalt has an E-clutch which will shut off in the event of a stall or a wheel pinch, reducing the reaction torque to the user. This is also similar to the kickback brake that is also installed. When the unit sense that there is a severe pinch, stall or bind-up, the kickback brake will engage, stopping the wheel, reducing the movement of the grinder and shutting the grinder off. When these occurrences happen, the user must flip the paddle switch off and then back on to restore power to the grinder. It also comes equipped with a constant clutch, so that if the grinder is overloaded or stalled, the torque and RPMs will be reduced until the overloading or stall is reduced. At that time the torque and RPMs will increase. If it is stalled for too long, the previous mentioned features will come into play, shutting down the grinder and causing the paddle switch to be cycled to restart the grinder. The main handle of the grinder has a built in LED indicator light that will flash in different patterns to indicate to the user an issue that has occurred. It comes with two guards – a Type 27 guard for use with grinding wheels, wire wheel, wire cup brushes, sanding discs and hubbed and non-hubbed sanding flap discs; and a Type 41 guard for use with cutting wheels. The guard can be adjusted with a lever in either one-touch mode (the guard will rotate to the next adjustment position without engaging the lever) or two-touch mode (The user has to depress the lever and rotate the guard to the next position, releasing the lever and locking the guard in that position), depending on the user’s preference. Don’t like the one-touch mode, simply unscrew the lever, flip it over, screw it back in place and it’s set up for two-touch mode.Swapping out grinding and sanding accessories is simple – depress the spindle lock button and use the provided hex wrench to loosen or tighten the locking flange and swap out your cutting/grinding accessory.Even with all of the included safety features, be sure to use hearing protection, eye protection and respiratory protection.Overall, I am very impressed the DWE 43244N angle grinder and look forward to many years of service life with it. Highly recommended.

This grinder is very impressive. Not only does it have a number of safety feature, but it performs well! The wheel ramps up to max RPM faster than its brushed counterpart and maintains good torque while cutting as well. Very happy with this grinder.

This grinder comes with a fully enclosed “deflection guard” (I don’t know the technical term) which works amazing for dry cuts in concrete for dust control! This grinder has a lot of torque which you can feel when you spin it for the first time, my favorite feature has to be the blade brake!!! WOW!!! I can’t believe i’ve never owned a grinder without one before. These are tough to find 6″ wheels for in your normal box store but worth it if you can order through Grainger or an online supplier.

I recently got the new 5″/6″ brushless paddle switch small angle grinder with kickback brake and boy does it have power ! I was quite surprised at the torque of this grinder and didn’t think that anything could compare to the dewalt 60 volt grinder that I own but now I’m a believer. It feels a little bulky at first but I got used to it very quick and this one is now my go to grinder. I really liked that it came with two different shields, the regular half one and another that’s enclosed on both side…not to mention the added loop on the cord end to hang it from. If your in need of a grinder that requires all day use and maximum power I would definitely recommend this one.

I weld and put up metal buildings so using a grinder is an everyday tool. This grinder cuts smoother than previous dewalt models . And as far as other brands, this grinder beats the rest. The electric brake works better than other brands offerings. I really like this grinder.

I have been using this grinder to cut up some scrap steel frames and it’s a serious beast. The grip is comfortable (I have larger hands, so sometime tools can be tiring to handle) and the paddle is nice and easy to use.The kickback brake is just awesome, engages fast and does exactly what you want it to do. Never felt underpowered or unable to do what I was working on.
