Great tool. More maneuverable than a Foredom for my purposes of furniture shaping and works as well as a compressed air die grinder that requires a 60 gallon tank – that I don’t have room for. Handles extreme Kutzall burrs perfectly. Highly recommended for shaping Maloof-style joints.

Very helpful for my job

Nice American made tool. Very powerful and easy to control. Beats the other ones I have owned.

I needed to grind out the Hardy hole on my Ridgid anvil. I worked well in that confined space.

Great product plenty of power.

This grinder works perfectly for us. It has the torque needed, and the reach we need to get into areas of our equipment needing cleaning and polishing.

I like this tool. The DeWalt 1 1/2 inch Die Grinder is a powerful tool and ergonomically designed. Most of my tools are DeWalt and all are still working. This shows the quality and reliability of DeWalt tool products. This grinder has a 1/4 collet and you can get an optional 1/8 collet. Included are the 2 wrenches needed to remove and attach the bits.

I love this tool. I do a lot of tig welding and while the welds are pretty enough to not need ground, they often need polishing. With a wire wheel, this is the perfect match for that. I have also tried some polishing pads and small, three inch grinding pads on this as well. It has all the power you’ll need for a variety of jobs, including, polishing, grinding etc. Like that it comes with tools for quick changing of different heads.

Removing serious amounts of metal were easy with this tool, using a suitable carbide burr (not supplied), for those jobs where a small rotary tool will just not cut it. Even when really “laying into” it, the tool did not slow down at all. The extended nose and hand grip allow easy access into narrow spaces to, for example, grind out a weld (see photos). A paddle type switch is provided, making use easy when wearing gloves. A latch button is provided to maintain the tool in an “On” mode, though the convenience of the spring-return-to-off of the paddle is a nice safety factor when a high RPM burr is spinning close to one’s body which is bypassed when the latch-on feature is utilized. Not too heavy and well-balanced, it is not tiresome to use and made quick work of grinding out an old weld. Two wrenches are supplied, needed to install or remove tools from the collet. A stop pin would be more convenient, but as long as you have a surface to place the tool on, the two wrenches can be easily manipulated.

DEWALT 120-Volt 1-1/2 in. Die Grinder is an industrial quality tool. Its a spot grinding tool for working with metal, paint removal and even wood, if you have a light touch. Clearly, this tool is for anyone needing a die grinder that doesn’t have an air compressor or doesn’t want to deal with the hassle. . It comes with standard features, a paddle switch, safety button and trigger lock for extended more comfortable running. Like many grinders this one is a single speed running at 25,000 RPM with no load. It has a standard quarter inch collet with a lock nut and includes two wrenches to adjust it. It weights about five pounds, is about 18-inches long and comes with an eight foot cord. Grinders are simple tools and its all in the attachments you use and your technique. This grinder let’s you hold it solidly and with a trigger lock that can let you put your hands where you are the most comfortable. It does have the standard double start switch for safety that is found on many power tools now. It is not one of the smaller one’s, but I’ve seen larger in diameter that you really need to hold with two hands and are uncomfortable. This one has a narrow front end to get into places like tight spots between steel members and is a great place to rest your hand and control the tool. Its not loud at all and the motor makes minimal sound under load which indicates excellent bearings. Can’t vouch yet for its longevity, but grinders are not complicated, knowing DeWalt’s quality, should easily hold up over time. I’ve been using it to knock off some rust and wasn’t hard to control at all. You can bear down on it and it performs well under load. It did a good job knocking off rust and crud on the undercarriage of my car. I was working under the car and not having the compressor going in my ear is nice for a change. Grinders take a number of attachments from cutoff wheels to deburring tools and this grinder can use them. Different attachments have various ratings so make sure they can handle this one’s RPM’s. I have a pneumatic die grinder, but this is the one I’ll be using for all my grinding jobs now.

Its lightweight and very strong

Great tool. Used with a 3 in cutoff wheel to carve out frame rust on my jeep, then an acorn grinder to clean up before welding. Gets a little hot with heavy use, but hasn’t quit. Great purchase, avoids the need to get out my compressor.

Bigger then expected. Seems to work very well. Over all I am very happy with it.

Just what I wanted. Should have gotten this years ago. Plenty of power.

Got this for my husband who loves it and said the possibilities for his wood working and metal sculptures are now endless. Keep in mind you have to buy all kinds of bits before you can get started
Danyka Goyette (verified owner) –
Just dandy.
Cassandre Von (verified owner) –
Plenty of torque and didn’t bog down under pressure. My problem was the wobble with a 6 inch burr on startup.
