This thing is a brute. I am sanding some old pine planks that had 30 yrs of stain and varnish. I had a 5″ orbital with40 grit and it was taking for ever. After looking online i thought this might fit the bill but was still a little skeptical that the job was going to take a long time. Well after plugging this thing in it cut my time by over 80% at least. I was working overheard and the weight is not much more if any than the orbital i was using. Great for stubborn old paints or stains but you will take some wood off your work so expect that.

I wish I had bought this yeara ago. It has plenty of power to remove material quickly. This plus some 30 or 50 grit paper smooths down wood easily. I use a different sander for the more delicate work, but this my new goto tool for sanding wood quickly.

Bought and used to sand my back deck. It’s a little hard to control but not too bad. It doesn’t come with a dust bag, I figured I could just tape a bag to it but it doesn’t even shoot the dust out through there! It just goes ALL over the place! So I started researching it and it needs a vacuum attached to it to work. Though they made it so small that no shop vac can attach to it and I can’t even find an adapter! Should just buy a competitors that is more thought out for customers ease of use!!

Good purchase. Does like it’s supposed to

Quadrupled the pace of my project over my 3 amp DeWalt disk sander. A quick improvement would be adding a catch bag on this tool.

This is much more powerful than rotary sanders. It’s a little tricky to handle at first, but I got used to it quickly. This thing is really awesome if you want some serious sanding power.

This is not a glorified orbital sander. It is an aggressive remover of peeling paint when used with a 40 or 60 grit disc. You can purchase and adapter that attaches to the shroud and becomes part of the Dewalt dustless vacuum system in coordination with its HEPA vacuums. No one at the big box stores are going to tell you this because they don’t know about it. You can regulate the aggression and speed which sometimes you have to do in order to control it and get use to the action. It can be a bucking bronco but once you get use to it it will remove peeling paint 5 times faster than an orbital. It would probably be best to sell the adapter with sander but the output of this machine would be too much for a dust bag. You need a vacuum.

I bought this sander to help remove dried wood glue and smooth out rough sawed wood. This sander has more than enough power to do what I need, the variable speed makes it usable for all kinds of woodwork. The dust port works great and connected to my Stanley shop vac with no adapters needed.

Worked as expected to sand boat bottom while being able to collect the toxic sanding dust with my shop vacuum.

Have only used it twice but so far it is working fantastic! The shroud does a great job collecting dust even with no-hole orbital pads. Even though I used it twice, it I used it for over an hour straight (except changing pads) sanding epoxy flooring. The motor was getting hot but it did the job.

I bought this to help sand my hardwood floors. It’s powerful and sands well. I didn’t like the fact that it doesn’t come with a dust bag. I need to figure out how to obtain one. That’s my only issue.

I bought this sander for the specific of sanding my garage floor after repairing crack in the cement. After two coats of paint, it looks really good. It did take a few minutes to get used to the feel, but no problem.

Easy to use and removed paint quickly.

It’s a nice sander. My complaint is that no exhaust bag came with it. I really don’t mind paying a good price for something when I know it is of good quality, but to make items that should be included an extra expense is wrong. No one is losing money here except the consumer.

I purchased this sander about 6 months back and has worked great. I find a lot of necessities for an aggressive sander that eats at material and this dewalt was the one for me. Only criticism I had was it was very hard to control, possibly not the best ergonomic design, it wobbles around all the time on unsteady surfaces and has gouged the material a couple times. It would be absolutely perfect if it had more of a grinder body design! Or at least a body shape that wouldn’t allow so much rocking

Very powerful, and very quick to remove material. Adjustable on how fast and how much you want to remove.

This item was bought in order to sand out smoke damage between joists. Sander is on the slightly heavier side but double handles give an excellent ability to keep control. All in all did the job and did it right
