Our new 1/4 sheet sander combines many end-user driven features and benefits. We have reduced the overall height of the unit, while keeping a powerful motor. We have also been able to reduce the vibration and wobble to give the tool improved comfort while using. The new paper clamp system was created after feedback and frustration that users had with the current wire form system. The new system works with a front button and a paper tension system with the back paper clamps.
- 2.3 Amp motor sands at 14,000 OPM
- Rubber overmold texture will provide smooth and comfortable control while sanding
- Improved paper clamp features for better paper retention
- Locking dust-port system that allows the user to lock vacuum hose up with the sander
- Reduced overall height of the sander to get the user closer to their work
- Separate counterweight design reduces vibration
- Rubber dust boot over the swtich to protect against dust ingestion for longer switch life
- Dust port is designed to fit directly to the DWV010 or DWV012 dust collectors
- To attach dust port to other vacs with one 1/4 in. hoses use DWV9000 universal quick connector

I was given one of these around 20 years ago. I used it for many years, until the pad was nearly completely worn out. I decided I needed a new sander, and knew exactly what to buy. I like this sander because you can buy sheets of sandpaper and cut your own pieces. Save money compared to the discs.

I have several sanders and this is my favorite: light weight, does a great job and handles easily at any angle. I have learned from years of experience that DeWalt makes the finest tools available on the market today and their prices are always affordable. DeWalt is all I buy now.

Great sander for getting paper on and off quickly.Down side is that the cord is stiff and not very long, I prefer the makita soft and no kink cord with 8-9 feet of length. Also the on-off switch is in the same location and same color as the paper release button. not as user friendly as it could be and seeing that little bitty yellow line to indicate on. You guys can do better, Like your plunge router which is excellent and your 735 x planer which has great reviews and is my next purchase.

Bought to replace the same model after 30 years of abuse. I’m glad that it has only improved over the years. I was able to use the original carry case.

Nice size to use, comfortable in small hands. It has much better sanding performance than my last palm sander and I appreciate that it collects most of the dust as a result of sanding. Fair price too, I would buy again.

Had it about 6 weeks now with regular use in my home-based Etsy business. No complaints whatsoever. It is a bit more aggressive than the Porter Cable it replaced, but that thing was like 15 years old, so…. The grip is extremely comfortable. The only oddity is that it will make this ‘squiggle’ when running down the length of a board Nothing shows-up in the finish, but it just makes an odd shake. My guess is as the eccentric is on a certain angle. Regarding the vacuum hook-up, what I’ve started doing is slipping over to the plumbing department and picking up a rubber pipe coupling. 1 1/4 will allow my Ridgid ‘upgrade’ hose to slip/tension fit perfectly.

Excellent tool. Relatively easy to load sandpaper. Pass through vibration and is not severe. My only complaint is the push-in on-off switch is really hard to get activate when using vibration resistant gloves. I would have preferred a sliding switch.
