I am a long time Dewalt Cordless user all the way back the 12 volt system. I have never had a Dewalt tool let me down. Cordless drills, corded drills, cordless circular saw, corded saws, recip saws have all served me well on the job site asca contractor and in the shop as a wood worker. My new orbital sander is exactly the same. Have used a competitors product that was a gift for years, this sander puts it to shame. And I look forward to many years of service!!!!

Fantastic Sander cant say anything bad about this, So effective and effortless, And for the guy who left the one star rating because he’s to stupid to by the right sanding disks, “here’s your sign” try reading the manual. Cant say enough good about this sander and the price point is great, going to buy another today

I’ve had this for a few months now and it is the best orbital sander I’ve ever owned. From stripping to fine finishing, it handles the toughest and most delicate jobs with East. It’s easy to use and easy to clean.

The sander does the job, though the 8 hole PSA sand paper discs are not readily available in stores near us (valley of about 35,000).

I’ve been using this tool as my shop sander since I started woodworking. It gets the job done and keeps on going. I have recommended this tool to every single one of my friends getting into woodworking and will continue to do so. After a couple years the velcro disk does loose its grip, but the replacement is cheap and easy to replace and you’re back in business. I cannot recommend this tool enough and it’s the best money I’ve spent in the shop. Whenever my current one dies, I will absolutely be replacing it with the same.

Great sander, I have used it twice, it has the stick on pads not the type that have the grabbing surface. It catches 90% of the dust with the collector bag. I would say the run time for the sander has been 3 hours and 2 sanding pads of 120 grit. And it performance has been great.

I’ve been using this sander professionally and must strongly disagree with the review that says that the 6420 captures 90% of dust. My estimate would be half of that. It blows dust all over the work area. It’s a good sander but it really should be hooked up to some type of dust collection system.

Great sander I use it all the time on woodworking I recommended to all my families members great product.

This is a great sander. The dust collection even works well. I had a ton of PSA paper and didn’t want to throw it away and I hate the hook & loop paper. My paper last longer too. The only downfall is I had to order it, which I hate doing. I like to hold it and look at it before I buy it.

I have five different brand palm sanders but the DeWalt is my number 1 go to sander. It is durable and very dependable!

I have an earlier version of this sander, it’s been through a lot and still goes on strong, very happy with it!

With an orbital sander, you never really know what you’re going to get until you give it a “spin”.I purchased this sander last week and here’s my take.Being someone with nerve damage in my hand, the feature I really liked about this sander is the rubber grips and the vibration is tolerable, compared to other orbital sanders out there.I do allot of hand woodworking, so when I use a sander I’m always concerned about the finish that will be left, that I couldn’t have just done with my hand planer.Working on a few projects around the house, I found the finish of this sander is super smooth without the common undulations you’d find in most orbital sanders.I would have liked to see a hook and loop sanding disk for this, but the PSA is great as well. This sander is the perfect power, low vibration and does the job well, while connecting to my dust collection system seamlessly.I’d definitely recommend this as yet another, quality DeWalt tool for your shop!

I’ve had this for about 5 years. It still functions like it was new. I’ve used it dozens of times. The velcro system to hold the sanding sheets has never loosened. Looking to buy one for my daughter.

I bought this Dewalt sander a few years back and I use this on a variety of projects around the home. Still works like the day I bought it. I highly recommend.

Size, weight, ability to sustain heavy use, site-friendly (non-pneumatic and has a reasonable on-board dust pick up), abrading speed, and non-Velcro pads were the criteria our small shop needed in an on-site/general use palm sander. I did the research, looked at pricing, delivery times, and product reviews. Pros: With the appropriate abrasive grit sequence, material is removed adequately to a respectable finish. Our shop hand sands all surfaces in preparation for finishing. Swirl marks were commensurate with the user’s experience level. 5″ dia. pad size is economical and the size we use throughout the shop. Pad is uniformly firm and we got good service from our abrasive discs. Dust collection was 60% or better, weight vs user fatigue was acceptable, unit did not overheat, cord length was long enough without being cumbersome, and it stows easily in a tool bag. Cons: On/Off only (I knew this at purchase and did not need a variable speed sander for the tasks we use it for). 60% dust pick up – dust bag reduces maneuverability but removal and cleaning are quick. Dust bag did fall off a few times during use, user was not seating bag to sander completely. In use less than a month, but 50+ operating hours on it to date. Would purchase a similar unit for our install/site fabrication needs. Units come on sale seasonally and on-line purchasing was fast and direct. Unit meets advertising and is suitable for the casual woodworker and light commercial user. We do not purchase repair/replacement warranties on less expensive ‘public use’ shop tools as part of our income/expense planning. Unit replaced another manufacturer’s 110v palm sander that lasted 15 years – of course it is no longer available…too durable. If we get half that service time from this unit, we come out ahead.
