The DWE6420 5 in. Random Orbit Sander has a 3 Amp motor that spins the pad at 12,000 OPM. Shorter height minimizes the distance between user and work piece. Design reduces vibration and has rubber over-mold in critical areas to reduce user fatigue.

- Separate counterweight design reduces vibration for improved comfort
- Improved dust-sealed switch to protect against dust ingestion for longer switch life
- Improved dust collection and interfacing with our vacuum locking system
- Dust bag has one-hand locking system
- Dust port designed to fit directly to the DWV010 or DWV012 dust collectors
- To attach dust port to other vacs with 1-1/4 in. hoses use DWV9000 universal quick connector

I bought this model sander about 2 or 3 weeks ago at a local Curtis Lumber to replace my old B**** brand sander. I couldnt believe the difference in them. I bought this recently for multiple big projects. So far, I’ve used this to refinish my step, refinish our kitchen cabinets, and finish new butcher block counter tops. Without it I couldn’t have gotten the job done with my old pad sander. You don’t need much pressure to really dig in, and when you do apply pressure it didn’t lose power. The dust collector work well for a small bag and as an added bonus my shop vac hose fit on the until to clean up while working. Great tool for the price.

Works well, except it came with a PSA pad instead of a Hook & Loop so I needed to spend extra to buy the Hook & Loop pad, about $15. Since Hook & Loop seems to be the standard today, the description should have been clear as to what type of pad came with the sander.

This sander feels great in your hand. Noise is a little louder then some other brands I have used. But not so loud you cant hear someone call your name. The RPMs on this sander seem to be a lot faster then most other brands. Great for when you need to be a little more aggressive. Will buy another one to keep in my truck.
