This is my first framing nailer and my third pneumatic tool (others are Hitachi 15 gauge finish nailer and a Porter Cable medium crown stapler). The DeWalt shoots 28 degree wire-weld nails up to 3 1/4″; I am currently using Bostitch and DeWalt nails and they both work fine. I have shot about 4,000 nails through this gun so far without a miss or a jam. Depth setting is easy to adjust. Magazine is easy to load. I use it in single-shot mode, and haven’t tried bump-and-shoot so I can’t comment on that. I use a Makita MAC700 compressor which puts out 3.3 SCFM at 90 pounds and this is adequate for most of my needs – I occasionally have to wait for the compressor, but only if I am shooting quickly. It does not come with a case, but I bought a padded soft case (Superior Parts H850) that was fine. Very pleased with the nail gun.

Bought this nailer to replace another framing nailer. Dewalt is well built, worked well to finish off current project 🙂 Time will if the ability to not be able to control the nailers exhaust, is a negative thing….

This has been a great nailer. I did have some trouble running it when the temperatures dropped below 0 degrees Celcius and that is why I dropped the rating to a 4 instead of a 5.

This is a great quality pneumatic nailer. Very powerful. The first impression of the tool is that of many other Dewalt tools. It feels and looks rugged, sturdy and durable. The nailer uses a quick-disconnect fitting with 3/8” thread instead of 1/4”. Oil needs to be applied to the unit which may be an inconvenience for some. There are not as many options for 28 degree nails in my local Home Depot, but I am sure that will change soon, with the re-introduction of this product. The tool includes features like depth control and sequential actuation mode. The second feature is very useful when working jobs that require lots of nails. The tool can also be used with the bump setting, which allows the fire of 1 nail per trigger pull. I am also very pleased with the ergonomics of the gun. It is well balanced and the weight is adequate for this kind of tool. There is a hanger on the tool that comes in handy when resting is necessary. I would recommend!

I love this nail gun. Two things I like about it are the depth setting and the bump setting or the sequential actuation mode. Which means you can fire one nail at a time or hold the trigger down and every time you tap the safety on the surface it fires a nail. That’s good for sheer wall you can just go right down the plywood real quick. it also has an adjustable hook on it for hanging it up until you are ready to use it. The only thing I was not to pleased with is that you have to oil it which is not that difficult but I’m used to my other nailers were oil less. I can deal with that. It is also pretty light weight and balanced well. Overall a great gun!!

Very powerful nail gun, well crafted

There is no quick adjustment for depth when going from 2” nails to 3” nails and opposite. Depth adjustment locking mechanism is making difficult to make such changes. Just because of that rating are low
