I’m not as happy with the Dewalt knife as I am the some of the other Dewalt products I’ve purchased. The blade should be retractable Much Safer, and your Screwdriver with extendable wand , the wand gets serverly stuck and the attachment’s should have a place in the handle possibly! Otherwise I enjoy all my Dewalt products and Alway’s aspire to aquire more!!

I make a lot of foam board RC planes and gliders at home. For this, I used several different types of box cutter knives like this one.I have to admit that this is the one I reach for more often than the other retractable styles. Why? Several reasons: 1) The “DeWALT Yellow” catches my eye. It’s actually a benefit when I have several scraps of foamboard laying about on my workbench, and I’m trying to locate a box cutter to make my long straight cuts; I can find it fairly easily.2) The length of it makes it easy to control when I’m making several long, straight cuts along my T-Square; I can grip it easily for the entire length.3) The quick change feature of the blade means I don’t have to reach for a screwdriver to undo it whenever I have to change a blade. On my workbench, if I have extra tools out, it is something that can be bumped off by what I’m cutting and end up on the floor, so having to search for an extra tool to make that change is a bit of a pain.What do I NOT like about this? Well, I’m not wild about the release being where it is. I had a folding knife similar to this where the swivel point on it got soft after repeated openings, and I went to close it one handed, and the blade closed much more quickly than I expected, catching the back of my thumb. Ever since then, I’ve been leery of knives that have the release where it is.Also, the “quick release” button for the blade sometimes sticks. I find I have to wiggle the blade in and out a bit to get it to lock in place; I’m not sure if that’s due to the locking mechanism or the blade not seating properly or even if it’s just me not getting the blade in properly; it’s a little thing, but anytime I’m dealing with sharp objects that can lay my skin open to the bone, I look to be as safe as I possibly can.Are these two items show stoppers for using this knife? No – they’re more personal issues for me, but I know other people may find them issues as well, so I’d rather bring them up and let you decide.

Way more solid feeling than other folding utility knives due to the liner lock mechanism. Blade storage in the handle is a great idea and give the handle a little more bulk to hold on to. Wish it had come with some extra blades to put in the handle.
