This tool is traditionally used for cutting aluminum, vinyl siding, screening, cardboard, leather, copper and 18-Gauge to 22-Gauge sheet metal. The snip’s serrated cutting edge prevent materials from slipping during use and the slip-resistant, bi-material cushion grip ensures a firm, comfortable grip.

These tin snips cut well. I have tried them on different gauges of aluminum and had great results. I compared the cuts I got to those made with a well known brand of snips and was pleasantly surprised. These snips cut a straighter line and cut the full width of the metal with no problems. This produced clean cuts without any sharp edges make my work easier.

Love the way these cut. Much better than other straight cuts I have used.

After decades of being an avid DIY’er, my scissors style aviation snips pretty much gave up the ghost – most annoyingly, they were difficult to keep adjusted for cutting and the cuts were not always clean. As long-time user of DeWalt products, I decided to give these a try when the need arose I am impressed! They have a nice ergonomically designed handle and a serrated cutting edge; combined, they provide nearly effortless, clean cuts; advertised for 18 gauge (1/20″) metal. There is also a thumb operated lock to keep the blades closed. Straight and Right-Hand cut versions are also available, all with color coded handles – red/left, yellow/straight, and green/right. The forged chrome vanadium steel cutting edges should last for a long time; the snips carry a limited lifetime warranty.I would recommend this product.

I’ve used DeWalt power tools, corded & cordless, for years and have never been disappointed with the performance or longevity. It was time to try some of their hand tools; the Aviation Snips are high quality, have excellent cutting performance, and feel excellent from a weight & balance perspective. The cutting edges are serrated to provide a good bite on the material being cut, the handle length provides good leverage to reduce the effort needed to cut, and the handles are color coded for the application, yellow for straight, red for left, green for right. The manufacturer offers a lifetime warranty.I would recommend this product.

I got the set of 3. Left right and center cut. They cut great, but was surprised one of the 3 came with several rust spots. No worries some wd40 and a brush. Strong cut, nice grip. Worthy buy.

If you do any amount of sheetmetal work a good set of shears are a must, even if you are just doing a small flashing job, these are a very good set. These right hand shears have a very good mechanical advantage that makes cutting easier than a conventional set of shears. I have used these on the 20 gauge sheetmetal I use to do patch panels on my street rod project and they went through it like butter. I highly recommend these shears and I also highly recommend you purchase a right and left hand set if you do a lot of sheetmetal work like me. It seems redundant but if you cut irregular shapes with inside and outside curves the right and lefts are a must and the price is very reasonable.

Made light work of snipping a custom-ordered sheet down to the correct size.
