These are good chisels, but they ding easily if dropped. They also have to be sharpened often. I’ve seen better chisels for half the price of the Dewalt.

The precise sharp edges allowed me to make very exact shallow cuts. I was chiseling hinges for a pole barn. The sizes helped me get the right cut. The hard steel stood up to the creosote drenched supports and stayed sharp in spite of a few surprises embedded in the supports. I think that I gave them a pretty tough work-out and they stood up well. The steel heel at the back of the haft allowed me to vary the angle when needed and make more flexible cuts. I had high hopes for the chisels and they met or exceeded every one.

I bought this set of chisels six months ago and have been very happy with my purchase. The chisel hand fit very comfortably in your hand and the blades are super sharp. The strike cap on the top has held up even with a lot of strikes on them on a weekly basis. I highly recommend this four piece assortment which will get most people through any wood project they have.

Returned them. Once I got home, I noticed someone used them on probably steel and chipped one to the tips. Probably an Ok set, but steel may not be quality enough for DeWalt name
