Nicely made, attractive tape but not very practical. Depending on your application this tape is marginal at best. I trust the dewalt name but this tape is a little disappointing. The shell is a bit large and cumbersome. The tape itself is thin and fragile. The reel mechanism is a bit stiff. Lastly I wish there was a hook end for hooking on the edge of structures. The hook provided is very small and quite useless. There is a loop end that I can only think is for ground stakes but for measuring large structures it is useless. I fashioned a hook from a shelf bracket and taped it on the end to work for my needs. But at the price point shouldn’t have to do that.

I have used this measuring tape for 1 project involving several long measurements (70-300 ft) & it works very well. The tape material is water resistant. The hand crank is geared so that it winds in quickly when longer lengths are spoiled out.

Had a tough time finding one in the store that wasn’t already broken. That’s probably not a good sign. But, I needed a long tape and couldn’t wait to order a different one. This is the only 300ft tape my local store carries. Used it for about 10 measurements and it worked fine. Hopefully it lasts.
