May only be 16 oz. But it swings plenty hard and fits in my work bag perfectly. Just wish it had a magnet like the 20 oz.

Everyone needs a hammer. If you are looking for the next step in the evolution of the hammer this one is for you. All hammers can drive nails and pull most. This hammer expands what nails can be pulled with the addition of side groves for nails within a 1/2″ to an inch of the wall. It still has the ability to one hand start a nail. This setting system is better than the last hammer I had.

It’s has good antivibration handle. Good for framing. Awkward for finish work.

I purchased this hammer for some finish work. It worked great. I was doing some remodeling, my granddaughter was helping me (she is 12yrs old) I told I have a hammer for you, she loved it. She pulled and drove nails with ease. The balance is good you can use this hammer al day long. It is great for both young and old. A awesome hammer.

I have had the hammer a couple weeks now and I love it. Great weight and balance, I really like the top of the hammer face. It is not rounded like a normal totally round head hammer, the bottom of the strike face is but the top is more square with slight rounded edges. This more square top part of the strike face makes setting toe nails much much easier. No need to drag out punch to finish setting the toe nails and less damage to the surrounding wood. The slight curve of the nail pulling side is perfect, I prefer the more straight nail pulling side as I use it as a pry bar and so on. The handle is very comfortable and just makes the balance perfect. This is my go too hammer and always on my tool belt. A very impressive hammer by Dewalt and you won’t be disappointed with this hammer.

I really like the reduced vibration! Feels great in your hand! Doesn’t feel like it even weighs 16oz.. For a trim hammer the notches on the side of the head could be somewhat more narrow for pulling the trim nails.

I got this hammer about a month ago and I’m very happy with it so far. I will add to my review after I’ve used it more. The first thing I noticed was the design of the head. The area of the claw seems much thinner than other hammers I’ve used. This shape allows for easier access to nail heads when trying to pull them from a board. The side of the head has 2 other notches designed for pulling finish nails and framing nails. The notches are spaced perfectly for removing common staples. The nail striking surface is more square than round and seems to help eliminate those off target hits that end up bending the nail.. The hammer head and handle are one piece with a nicely shaped grip that fits very naturally in my hand. I’ve noticed less shock to my hand when driving nails with this hammer compared to others I own and use. The hammer is well balanced and feels very comfortable when swinging and striking. I’m very pleased with this hammer after my early use. Can’t wait to use it more

I’ve had this hammer for a couple of weeks now and have been using it on a daily bases framing out a basement. My arm dosen’t get as tired swinging this 16oz hammer as it does with my heavier hammers. I like the feel of the cushion grip of the handle. Wish they (Dewalt) had incorporated the magnetic nail starter on this size hammer as they did on the 20oz and 22oz hammers, but other than that I really like this hammer.

My first reaction was that the hammer was too ‘stub nosed.’ It turns out that the hammer is very well balanced and feels really good in the hand. The broad face and the nail pullers on the side the head are bonuses.

I got the new DeWalt 16oz XP Hammer a week ago and it an awesome everyday hammer. Great design with its new and improved grip, feels nice in your hand, great balance and comfortable. It’s a solid feeling hammer that’s easy to use and hammering anything from framing nails to your finishing nails is a breeze. It has less sting for reduce arm fatigue. I really like the new Tri-puller, which makes is easy to pull out nails… round headed nails, finishing nails or even staples. Excellent modern-day hammer and with DeWalt you know you are getting Guaranteed Tough product that will last a lifetime. I’m very happy with my new DeWalt hammer. It’s an excellent everyday hammer.

I recently got DeWalt’s new 16OZ. general purpose hammer. At first, it looks like my other 22OZ. DeWalt hammer but upon handling it I quickly noticed it’s improved grip. I really liked the handle material that they used this time. It’s a tougher and more durable, yet more comfortable to the touch. This hammer is very comfortable to hold and I was able to use it at work longer without it straining or stinging my hand like other hammers have before. This hammer also comes with great features like a tri-puller on the side of the head and the very noticeable yellow handle that helps me keep track of it on the job site. Over all I really enjoyed seeing the improvements on the hammers handle construction and I can’t wait to continue to use it on my future projects at work and home. This is a great hammer to have in your tool arsenal.

The 22 oz hammer I would normally use I found the 16 oz more versatile. And I used it more often. With the same design as the framing hammer but lighter. I was able to use to set finishing nails with ease.

This was sent to me a few weeks ago and I have been using it while I am renovating a 100 year old house. It is an excellent hammer, the handle fits the palm of my hand and it feels good. I haven’t felt any shock coming up the handle. The extra nail pulling slots are also a great idea. Overall I would rate this hammer an A.

The hammer was comfortable to use. The square head was easier to get into corners. The only problem was the head and claw weren’t long enough. The head problem is if you have a small nail you are holding and you miss it you will smash your hand. Were that normal head you have some space. The claw problem is with the head being smaller you do not have a lot of leverage to pull out a nail. It is a good hammer for small spaces. You can get between studs easier.
