Used it for the past couple weeks. I usually leave the steel hammers for demo or forming But I tried it out for different projects as well. Like the striking power for a 16, would go bigger if I purchased again. Not a big fan of the grip, feels like it needs to break in. Started out slippery, getting better but that’s the reason for the 4 stars. Time will tell if it gets better. I’ll definitely continue to use it.

This has quickly become my “go-to” favorite hammer for doing a wide range of things. The reasons are: it’s lightweight and perfectly balanced; the contact surface of the head is NOT round as traditional hammers are; the claw is both slimmer and straighter (making its various uses substantially easier), yet reliably strong; the handle grip provides as much comfort as it does control; the additional nail puller notches are a nice plus; and it’s all one piece of hardened steel that makes it impossible for the head to become unexpectedly separated from the shaft. Tapping in loose nails on an entire privacy fence that surrounds a half an acre was a breeze, especially as it pertained to nails in corners. At the same time, it’s light enough to use on finishing nails without being overpowered, like a framing hammer would be. Two thumbs up DeWalt!!

Unbelievable light to hold, balanced perfectly. Grab this baby hit the nail with its square shape head and its in. Nail pulling features for even sheathing staples is superb. Every crew member wants one. Eastwing and Plum is out. Dewalt is the new standard for others to beat. My wife has now taken mine from me time to go get another–and its worth every penny

did not get tired when swinging this hammer, balance and grip is very nice. Plenty of weight to hammer in nails of any size

The length to weight ratio is good, let’s you get a good swing in. Pretty sturdy for a 16 oz hammer. Additional nail pullers on the side come in handy. Handle is comfortable but does have a small amount of vibration.

Not an improvement in the handle. It’s to thin and narrow not a natural feel in the hand. It needs to be more rounded like the 12oz mig weld hammer. It’s a nice looking hammer and wished it worked for me but it didn’t. Sold to a co-worker. Dewalt fix this problem so I can purchase it again. I’m an electrician of 30yrs and this would make the perfect hammer for my trade.

Lightweight, nice size, feels very comfortable, balanced, and I can easily swing it with no fatigue.

The 2 different sized nail pulling slots on the side of the claw are nice features. They let you get into tight spots and give a different type of leverage than the claw does. I wish this had a magnetic nail starter which would let you start a nail with one hand but it’s not a show stopper. This is my new go-to hammer!

I received this hammer as a reviewer. I’m a big fan of Dewalt products So I agreed to give it a whirl… Unfortunately: I live in the Northeast and it has been raining here most of the summer, I have not had a chance to get outside and give it a real stress test. I took it to my workbench tonight, Feels good in my hands, Has a sold feel and good contact, I’m NOT a professional, And don’t swing a hammer much But it performed well in my hour of testing, I really like the nail pulling feature on the top of the head, But it did take some getting used to, Seems odd to leever to the side with a hammer handle BUT It worked wonderfully Pulling some spiral nails from a pallet. Over All the hammer is well made, And well attached to it’s handle. I requested the 16 OZ model. There are heavier models. I wish I had more time for evaluation, But Overall a Great Product.
