This was a replacement for my Stanley 14 oz. hammer, whose fiberglass handle broke off at the eye. I wanted a single-piece forged construction to avoid the same problem and this hammer was exactly that design. This was also the shortest hammer (<12") I was able to find, which can easily fit in my small toolbox. I am happy with the purchase so far and looking forward to keeping using it.

This is an excellent finishing hammer. Its solid steel and has a good, comfortable grip on it and an oval head. The weight/heft of it is just right for finishing jobs – not too heavy that you have to be extra careful, and not so light that you need to put in extra effort. As usual, Dewalt has made a good, solid tool that I expect will last forever.The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the description says that it has a side nail puller, but it is not on this hammer like on other, larger Dewalt hammers.
