Good heavy duty, easy to use clamps. I actually prefer them to the original Irwin brand clamps. The full depth rubber cushions are great. My only ding is that the silver button used to quickly convert from clamp to spreader is a bit too prominent and thus can be depressed by accident on occasion, but it’s a very minor issue.

I have said it before – you can never have enough clamps. And for what they are, good claps in general are expensive. And the problem with clamps is you need different sizes for different projects. Because of their cost, you get tempted to buy larger clamps thinking they will cover a wider range of uses – which can be true to a point. But clamps that are too big become unwieldy on smaller projects. This clamp has a large clamping surface and has really good clamping force – both major pluses. It would be nice if the design were such that you could set a couple of these on a flat surface and they would support themselves while you use your hands to get the parts you want to clamp in place.

The tool has a firm grip, doesn’t slip and basically does the job it is designed for quite well but the pads that it grips with keep falling off when in transit. Should one of the pads fall off and become lost the tool becomes useless.

Great clamps! I’ve used many types of clamps in my life, and I can say for sure these are a head above the rest. The 600 lb clamp force that doesn’t slip it outstanding. I have been using these clamps for several years now in all four lengths (12″ 24″, 36″, & 50″). I just bought a couple more 12″ which is why I am just now being asked to write a review. Some might say these clamps are too expensive, but I saw you get what you pay for.

Dewalt went and changed these 600 lb force clamps and the jaws only have force at the tips when the original version has almost 100% equal force the entire length of the gripping pad……I am totally in love with the original version that I aquired about 3 years ago and am very disappointed that they just had to alter a good thing thinking they were making an improvement when all they did was ruin the most awesome/fast/handy clamp I have ever owned.
