Terrific clamp. This clamp is a lot bigger and heavier than I was expecting from the product images on Home Depot’s website. It’s really heavy duty, so don’t be expecting to use it for light balsa wood jobs or something! I love this clamp for my bigger woodworking projects. Great value!

The DEWALT 12 in. Heavy Duty F-Bar Clamp that can clamp up to 1,000 lbs of force. I need a F-Clamp Bar that is strong enough not the bar to flex when trying to clamp with a lot of force. The bar is 1” wide and a ¼” thick compare to the HF standard clamps that is 5/8” wide and 3/16 thick. There is no flexing with F-Clamp. The throat depth is 1-¼” compare to the HF is 2-3/8”. This heavy duty clamp has a 3-piece clutch design to help lock so it will slip when clamping down hard. It has a larger handle so it makes it easier to grip it make those strong clamping. It comes with a Lifetime Warranty. Great product from Dewalt

I like it but the only thing that I find is that the top cap will fall off and not stay in place. Several times I have try to use it and the cap is missing again. Tries some glue didn;t work , it just slowed it down some. Other than that its a good tool clamp.

The Dewalt 12 inch heavy duty bar clamp (f-clamp) is very well made and such a handy tool in my workshop. I really like how easily it adjusts on the slide bar with a lever release that is easy to operate and with a very secure grip, so it won’t slip. The clamping force is 1000 pounds and holds strong and tight. The throat capacity is 3 1/4 inches and the adjustment handle is comfortable and easy to grip. It comes with a limited lifetime warranty. I’d definitely recommend it for the professional craftsman or home craftsman.

I already owned several other bar clamps of various brands and types but each seemed to have drawbacks. Some tended to slip when tightening and others require a lot of hand pressure to get real tight. This Dewalt Heavy Duty Bar Clamp is built like a tank. It is all steel and has a 3 rib locking mechanism that won’t slip. To use it you simply squeeze the release, slide the jaw to the desired opening and then tighten the screw-like clamping pad with the handle. The handle which is designed like a comfortable screwdriver handle is a feature that I really like. It is a great improvement over those older designs. I have used it several times in the last week and its clamping pressure is very great. It would be real easy to crush wood when clamping with this clamp. This clamp is well worth the money!

I bought a set of six and twelve inch clamps and agree with most reviewers that they are sturdy and well made however after about the third use of the 12″ clamp the square rubber pad came off without my noticing and disappeared. I have not yet found a DeWalt replacement and can’t be sure generic replacements will fit. My bad luck, and not a good enough reason to pass them over.
