The setup is quick and the mechanism readily adjusts to the perfect tension. No more having the corner blocks sliding around as you fine tune the tension. This clamping method worked perfectly for me! I needed to clamp an 8″ square frame together and the design of this clamp, with the tightening mechanism built into a corner allowed for accommodating the small size. Unlike a much less expensive rachet clamp offered by a competitor, where the rachet is on one of the sides, limited how smail I could go. Whereas with this DeWalt clamp there was no size limitation.

You can certainly use standard clamps on large projects or frames but I must admit this is quite a bit easier and you likely get a little more consistent pressure. It’s fairly obvious how to use and of good quality materials. However I have two small complaints. The cam lock is pretty stiff and a takes some effort to disengage. On one hand that’s good because the strap will stay clamped, but it’s also difficult to make quick adjustments. The other is perhaps a little unreasonable, so take it very lightly but there is no strap management. For either small projects or for storage there is no way to keep the long tails cleanly stored away. I ended up using some small velcro straps meant for cable management to solve this, but it would be awesome if it came this way from the factory. Overall great addition to the clamp collection.

It works well. A bit more expensive that what can be found online but you know you got DeWalt quality behind it. Suggestion, pull the band from the right side a bit to ensure it doesn’t come out on you. I had a heck of a time getting it back in and of course it happened while doing a glue up.
