The hammer works well, but ejects staples too easily. Once you get the hang of the tool quarks it works well.

I’ve never found a stapler that drives reliably and consistently without jams and misfires. This one comes close, but still has some room for improvement. That said there are a few nice features to set it out from the pack. The belt hook is a very welcome addition. It sounds stupid to praise a belt hook but most staplers forget to include one and it makes it incredibly awkward to juggle the material and your tool.My old stapler just had a “High / Low” switch, this one has the same concept but makes it much more clear which setting to use by re-labeling that with the exact brad/staple sizes. Set the switch to this side for A and B staples, set the switch to that side X, Y, and Z sizes. It drives brads and staples. The brads have some in handy when I’m doing a quick repair and just need to hold something in place until the glue dries (and lugging the compressor / brad nailer out seems like a lot of work for a minor repair).Overall a pretty nice tool. I would like to see them use some creative gearing or springs to reduce the force required to pull the trigger though. A few staples is a none-issue but shooting an entire strip of them is exhausting.

Good design overall, I use the stapler to hang my house wrap and roof underlayment. Note: once in a while it won’t close when refilling but not a major problem, move the staples a bit. It will need to be lubericated occasionally.

Only negative I have is keeping the staple loading port closed. I tacts like it has engaged, but the 1st time you use the unit, it slides open and your staples fall out.

Easy to re load but you really have to hit the spot directly or the staples don’t go in all the way…. so it’s hard to do on a ladder and on any tight spaces or angles

Originally bought one of the cheaper Hammer Tackers that loads staples through the handle. Jammed internally on third insulation bat. Could not clear the internal jam even after removing every screw on the tool. Returned that disaster to HD and picked up this Hammer Tacker. This product loads from the bottom and the entire mechanism can be accessed to clear jams. Nice thing is the tool never failed unless I missed the two by. Did entire job well and look forward to using it again.Save yourself some grief. Get a bottom loading tool. And Dewalt has never let me down.
