Certainly not a cheap tool. Dewalt has always had a standard for high quality. May not be every day that you will need a riveting tool but when you do, you can trust this tool to do the job.

Every rivet is perfect and operation is easy. Just what you would expect from Dewalt.

I bought this to install some Diamondplate parts onto my 2004 Jeep TJ. I am in the process of doing quite a bit of upgrades to my Jeep which included replacing the existing Fender Flares. The screws holding the original flares were rusted to the point they would not back out. I had to cut the original flares off in order to get at them with a screw driver and a hammer, getting under the washer and applying pressure until they broke and popped off. Well the hardware install kit that I bought to install the new flares gave you the option of bolting or screwing them in place. Either way, I was looking at an all day job to get one of them re-installed as I saw no way to easily hold the nut in place while turning the bolt. I ended up taking 1/4″X1-1/4″ washers, slipping them over the end of the 3/16″x1/4″ rivets and installing the rivets in place of the bolts. It snugged up that fender so much better than I could have done with hand tools and bolts. The pivoting head on this made is to much easier to get into the places I needed to get into to install the rivets. I am so very happy I made this purchase. I was holding this one and one that was a few buck cheaper in the store and decided to go ahead and splurge the extra 4 or 5 bucks on the Dewalt and I am very glad I did. I now have another weapon in my arsenal of attachment tools as an option in the future. I am sure this thing will get plenty of use and as well as it is made I have no concerns that it will stand up to whatever punishment I dish out.

Great construction, great price, very useful. Used it right away and it performed perfectly. Much better made than the competition. Would certainly recommend this item.

This unit struck me as large and heavy. Was repairing a lawn mower deck which required riveting pieces to fill holes in deck (1992 unit). It turns out the ability to swivel this head was just dandy on this deck – had to use it in the bends. It takes some strength to clamp and cut the rivet but does an excellent job.

Good tool.

Very versible for heavy duty projects. I used the riveter to repair a few items around the house.

This is a great tool if you have just a few dozen rivets that you need to set on an occasional basis. I compared this tool to the equivalent hand riveter from a company known for bay cargo, and this Dewalt has longer handles (more leverage) with more padding (more comfort) and more throw (fewer squeezes required per rivet). There was a noticeable drop in effort required to set the same size rivet when using this Dewalt.

Excellent quality and highly recommended…should be stocked in Home Depot retail stores.

Good quality tool as are all Dewalt items. The only drawback is when using larger diameter rivets. Works great on 1/8 inch rivets though.

Solid in hand and nice that it has comes with the various tips mounted right in the tool to swap out. I was very pleased that despite it’s size I could fit into tighter spaces. For example I was splicing together 4″ venting pipe for a clothing dryer exhaust. You need to open the handles completely to engage the internal catch mechanism, in other words you can’t make small steps in the tightening of the rivet. A little tricky if you don’t have enough space, but it works. Overall good addition to the tool box.

Purchased this tool to replace another riveter. On the plus side, it works very well and releases the stem perfectly. On the down side, it may require two hands to operate because of the large distance between the handles when they are fully open.

This met expectations, which are high for this brand. Well packaged and quick delivery!

I dont really like the swivel head, but i wasnt using it in a hard to get place. It worked flawlessly, and if i was at a weird angle in a tight spot, this woukd be the way to go. But if you arent…. get the straight forward one.

I’ve been eyeing riveters for a while and finally decided on this one due to the swivel head. Had to use it on my truck’s bed cover to install several small D-rings for bungee cords. The rivets set nice and tight, holding the D-ring straps perfectly in place. I used 3/16″ aluminum rivets with steel shanks and the effort required to set them was negligible. Only downside is that the shanks didn’t want to easily fall out after setting the rivet. This may get annoying if using this on a job that requires setting a large number of rivets. Given that this is my first and only riveter, I don’t know if this is a universal problem with all of them.Build construction is solid and looks like it could easily stand up to years of use. The wrench to swap out the adapters tucks away into one of the rubber molds. It stays firmly in place and requires some coercing to get out, so there’s no worry about it accidentally falling out.

Good pop rivet gun for the money. Similar design to other manufacturers models. Having all of the different sized tips screw into the handle is handy.
