I had seen portable bandsaws in industrial construction sites as far back as 1994 – I never imagined a use for them in the home environment. I love this – I do metal working and welding ( fence repair, mods to utility trailer, etc – small stuff) Using this bandsaw it a huge step up in accuracy and controllability over simply using an angle grinder or a metal abrasive chopsaw! well worth the money spent. Quick note – I bought spare bands after reading that the DeWalt supplied blade di not really hold up – My experience is it has held up really well and I have been very pleased! like I said, I do small projects but for average homeowner use it really does well.final thoughts – the band track well the light is nice, the tool feels solid but not too heavy and runs very smooth/no vibration. Be sure to keep your band speed correct for the material you are cutting and band life should be good!

Super easy to use right out of the box. Cuts steel like butter. I cut 1/2 2×2 angle with easy. Superior to a cutting disk. No loss of material and extremely precise. And the case. What more could u ask for?

I’d been using my lathe to try to part 3″ mild steel and I was successful maybe 80% of the time. Then I saw this and decided to give it a try with the part still in the chuck.Man it cuts thru those 3″ solid 1018 CR steel bars like butter. Took all of 7 minutes with just gently resting it on the material and letting it do the rest. Doesn’t even get hot and the blade is thin enough not to waste more than is needed. Highly recommend.
