The DEWALT 1.25 HP variable speed Compact Router lets you determine the speed you need for the application at hand. A low, contoured grip close to the work surface gives you excellent precision and control, no matter whether you’re making small bevel cuts or large edge profiles. The heavy duty, soft starting motor features full time electronic feedback that maintains motor speed through the cut. A depth-adjustment ring provides controlled bit depth changes to 1/64 in.

I bought this as soon as they went on the market. I use it all of the time and it works just as well today as it did brand new. It is light enough that my hand never gets tired, but is stable at the same time.

This compact router is perfect for me. It is just the right size and weight and so easy to use. I never used a router before, but after just a little practice to get the depth right, I was able to do roundovers like a pro. I am so looking forward to trying more complicated cuts in the future. It does kick up a lot of dust, though, so you will definitely need to wear protection, and make sure you anchor your work down real tight. I might add, I am not a big fan of instructions on a huge sheet of paper, but I guess that’s a cost-cutting measure I can live with. Overall, I am thrilled with this router!

I absolutely love this router. Not the most intuitive to learn, but it proved to be easy to handle, nimble, quiet, and impressively accurate. Without the fat grab handles it’s actually easier to maneuver. Seemed more than powerful enough.

So far the router has lived up to my expectations and I have enjoyed using it. Unfortunately I needed to do some template work and although Dewalt says that it will accept the Porter-Cable router template guides it actually requires the purchase of a separate base (DNP613) which is apparently only available online for an exorbitant price or for an eternity in shipping or you can get the plunge base.

I bought this a few weeks ago to put an edge profile on some doors with raised panel. The small base made it very easy. Good power for such a small and compact router. The base is just the right size. I also use it for flush trimming.

The router is great for sign making and dove tailing. It has plenty torque and power plus is light weight easy to handel. The only prob is if u put your bit to far out u can damage the collet. This is very expensive to replace costs $26,00 to replace. Costs almost as much for shipping as the small part costs.
