The DEWALT 1.25 HP variable speed Compact Router lets you determine the speed you need for the application at hand. A low, contoured grip close to the work surface gives you excellent precision and control, no matter whether you’re making small bevel cuts or large edge profiles. The heavy duty, soft starting motor features full time electronic feedback that maintains motor speed through the cut. A depth-adjustment ring provides controlled bit depth changes to 1/64 in.

Nice router but very hard to change cutting bits…..You have to hold down a locking button and try to turn the nut on the collet with a wrench that’s difficult to line-up with the collet nut. The spring action locking button has a very stiff spring. Very stuped system.

After using a full size plunge router for years, I don’t know how I got by without this compact router. It’s so easy to use and easy to change bits, adjust the depth, and change the speed. It’s very easy to hold in one hand and guide the base with the other hand to keep the base flat on the surface. The added light also makes it easy to see your work. Plenty of power to get the job done.
