I have used this track saw for several days now. It is hands down better than measuring offsets from my aluminum straight edge for my 20 year old Skill Saw. What was I waiting for?

Worked great! Wish Dewalt would make a better instruction manual. The layout and graphics are terrible. The machine works great, however.

Saw cuts made using the track are accurate and clean (must first do the zero-clearance prep of the track). Anti-kickback system is a plus. Much quieter than my old circular saw, nice soft start feature. Dust collection using shop vac hookup is excellent.

I have LOTS of experiences with ALL the major brands of track saws. Here is what I’ve found…If you want the very best, (and can afford it) get Maffel. If you want the next best, (almost same quality) get Festool. But if you only want the advantages of a track saw without the ridiculous high price, get this DeWalt or the Makita SP6000.The only difference between the Makita SP6000 and this (or all the other expensive saws) is that the Makita SP6000 does NOT have a riving knife. A riving knife is only necessary when cutting raw timber that has internal stresses which can grab the blade and cause kickback. Since these saws are primarily used for sheet goods, the missing riving knife is usually a trivial feature. The big advantage with Makita is the LOW PRICE, but then you have to pay WAY too much for the track and other accessories which are sometimes difficult to find at all.The great advantage with this DeWalt model is, the tracks, angle-guide, friction strips, zero-clearance strips are MUCH less expensive. So when you add it all up, you will spend the same or slightly LESS with this saw, especially if you need the LONG track for cutting full-sheets of plywood lengthwise. In brief: ALL the major brands of track-saws are good. The main difference is price and accessories.Makita does not have a riving knife, and the accessories are expensive, but it cuts great and costs less up front. The two German big boys (Maffel and Festool) are both great, but you have to pay a LOT. Unless you are a pro who can take depreciation and other deductions, they are hard to justify. The DeWalt track is different than all the others; It has TWO guide-rails instead of ONE, and it is reversible. That means you have TWO sides to cut on, and do not need to immediately replace the zero-clearance strips if one gets damaged. You can keep working until the new strips arrive. This DeWalt has all the high end features (including the riving knife) AND a good selection of accessories that cost less than the competition. The only unique feature is the TWO SIDED track, which is potentially valuable for pros. Do the research and verify these conclusions for yourself. Look at the base prices but be sure to include the cost of all the accessories you need or want. For the record, and to prove I am not a shill, I bought the Makita SP6000 because it fit my budget and I do not need a long track or other accessories. So I am NOT working for DeWalt. But do your homework; add up the cost vs benefits and include the cost of accessories. If you need several tracks of different lengths, or just want all the accessories, this is the best bargain overall.

I spend a lot of time studying products and reviews before I buy. No regrets with this purchase. I can edge glue boards right after ripping them. Best tracksaw on the market.

I bought this saw a couple months ago to help get straight cuts on full sheets of plywood by myself without holding the table saw and the wood at the same time. It has worked perfectly and makes it a breeze to square up tabletops and counter tops.

The saw works great. Fully meets expectations. It could have been packaged better for shipping. Fortunately, the saw was in a plastic case which took most of UPS carrier abuse.

The saw is pretty great overall, but my biggest issue is that they use a 20mm arbor which is almost impossible to come by. You need to order the blades and Home Depot or other competitors dont stock these, so if you run out, you’ll be waiting a few days for these to arrive by mail

Saw this saw on a home improvement tv show and ordered it immediately. First project: insetting an obscure antique glass in a new solid core door slab. The plunge feature eliminates the need to drop a circular saw through the surface…no blade cover to hold back awkwardly and impeccably straight cut made the job easy. Have used it to straighten long but warped recovered lumber and can see many possibilities for future projects. A great addition to my shop!

I have been a wood worker a long time.6 years with a cabinet shop 12 years self employed. I debated purchasing the festool as I had used it on loan multiple times.i bought this dewalt saw and have no complaints. I actually like the saw and its plunge action better than the festool. the saw works really well and I am happy with it.the tracks seem a little cheaper than the festool but they work and cost a lot less.if taken care of they are fine.this saw is everything I wanted in a track saw.

This thing is great. It has paid for itself over and over again. Ripping plywood is a breeze. A perfect straight cut everytime. And a fraction of the cost of a festool. Buy it and don’t look back.

This saw is an excellent product, and makes rip cuts very simple. It does NOT replace a table saw, and the manual is so useless that it is better served as either Toilet paper, kindling, or both if you’re feeling frisky. Apart from that I would say this saw is not as nice as the Festool equivalent, but it makes life so easy Vs a clamp down track.

I was unsure of whether to purchase the dewalt or festool so I watched many comparisons on you tube. The wood whisperer was the one that really made up my mind so I gave the dewalt a try. Let me tell you, it works like a charm its almost like having a portable table saw. It also saves my back because I now can cut to manageable size my sheet goods before putting them on the table saw. The value is outstanding and with the money I saved I upgraded the blade to an infinity and it works like a dream.

My wife & I do a woodworking projects, including furniture building, but we don’t have the space for the table saw we want. The DeWalt Track Saw is a great alternative if you have limited space. Its low profile and thin track (we have the 4′ & 8′ tracks) let you see exactly what line you’re cutting to. It’s easy to make long, straight cuts in plywood & hardwoods. Great for precision cutting! The only draw back, when you compare it to a table saw, is that a table saw fence will allow you to make consistently square cuts without remeasuring. With the track saw, you have to measure & remeasure to ensure you lined up the track properly.

I have used saw guides for years. This makes better cuts and makes repeat cuts easy.

It seems like alot of money for this but it is so well worth the money. This saw is amazing. I love it

Great alternative to a table saw. Wish I would have found it earlier.

Overall this is a great product. I have been doing woodworking for several years, and wished I would have purchased this a long time ago. I read several reviews on this saw, the Festool, and the Grizzley/Shopfox. This saw is priced in the middle of the others and I think it is an excellent product. It attaches to the track easily, has very easy controls and delivers a smooth cut every single time. I have cut soft woods like cedar and hard woods like oak with this saw and its a clean cut every time. I typically use this saw to cut table tops and it goes through the thick wood with ease.

This Saw totally meets my expectations.
