The DEWALT DWS709 miter saw is designed with a powerful 15 Amp, 3800 RPM motor that delivers exceptional power and durability. A tall sliding fence supports crown molding up to 5-1/2 in. nested and base molding up to 4-1/2 in. vertically against the fence while easily sliding out of the way for bevel cuts. This saw features an exclusive back fence design that cuts up to 2 in. x 14 in. dimensional lumbers at 90 degrees and 2 in. x 10 in. at 45 degrees.

I bought this saw to replace my aging Skil 10 inch miter saw. Put ofthe box, the saw was lined up and no major adjustment was necessary. Kwasable to cut boards straight o uh t of the box. It has handled many large framing projects, and with a quick blade change, cut crown molding very consistanly. I use the inboard clamp to hold much of my work, and is easy to move from one side of the saw to the other. The blade guard is sturdy, and follows the contour its cutting vary well. The dust collection is better than other saws that I gave had, but it doesn’t get it all. Adjusting cut angle is easy, and bevel adjustment us a quick knob turn with an easy to read bevel angle scale. Allowing that to bevel both ways is a major advantage, which us ine reason I bought the saw.

I bought this saw about 4 months ago. I had a ryobi single bevel that was fine for simple projects. But as my jobs have gotten more challenging and detailed, the dewalt 12” compound miter saw was a must. I have even built a table for the saw the be stored on. It is a big saw, so make sure you have room in the garage.

Doesn’t cut all thrue the baseboard of 5 1/2 on the 45° against the wall at the right side. On the 45° left side laying against the wall yes cut really good. But not in the right. Becuz the baseboard touch the top of the miter.

The drill has been good and has done everything I need it to. The dual bevel is great and it is easy to make a variety of cuts with the saw and work with a variety of widths and thicknesses of wood. My only complaint is I wish it was a little smaller and easier to carry around to job sites.

I have been using this saw for about 2 months now and it is great. The slide seems very stable and there are a number of nice features including a depth stop. I recommend fine adjusting the zero by using a square and sliding the saw out, but it was almost perfect out of the box. It does require a fair amount of room behind the saw for the slide and dust collector (which I think could be done in a way that doesn’t stick straight out the back).
