The DEWALT DWS709 miter saw is designed with a powerful 15 Amp, 3800 RPM motor that delivers exceptional power and durability. A tall sliding fence supports crown molding up to 5-1/2 in. nested and base molding up to 4-1/2 in. vertically against the fence while easily sliding out of the way for bevel cuts. This saw features an exclusive back fence design that cuts up to 2 in. x 14 in. dimensional lumbers at 90 degrees and 2 in. x 10 in. at 45 degrees.

The first time I used this saw, I cut a 2×4 and the cutoff piece flew back and broke the sawdust collector. This piece was only 1/2″ long so I was surprised that it had that much force.

I was able to pick one of these after using a beveled miter chop saw for a while. The slide was something I was really looking forward to, plus it was an upgrade from a 10″. I hadn’t done the research on it, a sale opportunity popped up and a friend told me about it I had him pick it up for me and I was amazed once I finally got it set up at home. The lighted cut feature in place of a laser is incredible! I couldn’t believe how much quieter it was, how smoothly it cut, how accurate the lighting “laser” thing is (cant remember what its called at the moment). All the bells and whistles really make this an amazing tool. Setting depth on the slide for repeatable cuts, just everything about this saw is great. I actually get giddy using the the thing, I enjoy it that much!
