The DEWALT DWS715 12 in. Single-Bevel Compound Miter Saw is powered by a 15 Amp motor to drive 4,000 rpm, delivering extended power and durability. This 12-in miter saw features a stainless-steel miter detent plate and cam miter lock that provide repeatable accuracy and durability with easy adjustments. This DEWALT miter saw has tall sliding fences that support 5-1/2 in. of base molding vertically and 5-1/2 in. of crown molding vertically nested. The lightweight design and built-in carry handle make this a portable miter saw that’s easy to transport around the job site. It folds down for easy storage in your workshop or garage.

Over all I am mostly satisfied with the saw. However there area few things that I am dissapointed in Dewalt for changing from the saw I purchased about 15 years ago of the same model. This new saw has a smaller base, smaller table and no board support wings. All better features that resulted in the old saw weighing about 12lbs more and being more stable on the bench. I also don’t understand the safety switch on the trigger. Completely unnecessary as the trigger location alone is a very good safety feature without an annoying little additional safety switch. I would be happier if Dewalt had maintained the old style construction and charged more for the saw instead of making a cheaper version of the saw at the same price as the old one. I have been a diehard Dewalt user for the past 20 years and own more that 15 different tools by Dewalt. But I will look for alternatives if the cheaper construction continues in other tools they manufacture.

I replaced a 30 year old 10″ Delta that was used very regularly, so I was looking for another workhorse type of saw. First thing i noticed with this Dewalt is that it’s built very solid, there’s nothing cheap about it. Could have spent way more for a miter saw but for the quality of this one there’s no need to. The 3 safety features are a big plus over my old Delta and the notched stops on the miter plate are really helpful. The only knock on it so far is that it’s noisier that I had hoped.

Saw is great but need to pay special attention to mitered corners. Not always straight but can be made straight. Also max height is always from left side so need to turn over boards if opposite cuts. Otherwise safe machine, clean cuts and overall good value.
