So far it is great. I had some intricate molding to cut and I had to use every angle and did it with ease. Looking forward to using it on a basement redo.

Ive had this saw for a few months now and love it, and show it off to all of my contractor friends, but this this is heavy as heck! Overall a great miter saw for every one that needs one.

This saw gets used on a daily basis for our custom sign business. This does exactly what we need with precise cuts. The light that helps line up our cuts makes it very easy to see even when there is low light. The dust collector works great. We have removed the bag and attached it to a vacuum (less messy). No power loss and the fact that we can use the cord or use the batteries makes this very versatile. I would recommend this to anybody who likes an easy to use saw with flexibility. My wife uses this as well and loves it!

I’m just a hobbyist and needed a new Miter Saw, after my last saw was ruined by a flood.I bought several from other manufacturers but found they just seemed cheap, and inaccurate, Finally found a great deal on this saw and sprung for it.. what a difference with this contractor quality saw, it’s solid and seems like it will last for ever- if I can just stow it a little higher next hurricane!

I have had other miter saws both were good brand names but I always wanted the DeWalt and my wife finally got me one that came with the miter saw stand for my B-Day. I have to say I am completely satisfied. The saw is as awesome as I thought and the stand was a great surprise that works flawlessly super easy set up. I build cabinets and do other wood working and I would highly recommend this set up to anyone. If you are a novice or a pro don’t wait years like I did don’t waste your money and your time. Invest in the best!! you can publish my email and anyone that wants a personal recommendation can contact me and I will give an honest opinion. Super satisfied

It’s clear that a lot of thought went into this machine. It took me a little while to get used to the cutline feature (previous saw had a red laser line), but I am able to get accurate, repeatable cuts and I am confident in the cutline feature. I would note that the flexible boot that helps channel sawdust from the blade has deteriorated and I’ve had to fasten it several times now with super glue and duct tape. So, this appears to be a weakness in the overall design. Other than that, the machine is accurate and intuitive to use.

As with 90 percent of dewalt tools, this thing is just awesome. I have the miter stand saw horse and the miter stand brackets. I highly recommend both of them. Though I do have the older brackets. There appear to be an issue with the safety catch on the newer ones.So I attached this to the brackets and clicked it onto the stand. When I purchased my brackets, they did not come with hardware. I bought some 5/16 x 2 carriage bolts, washers and nuts. The saw arrived with the bevel set so I just zeroed it out and trued up the saw with an square as shown in the manual.Previously, I’d just about cut everything with a square and a circular saw. While that was doable, it was not ideal. Especially when I was cutting several pieces if wood to the same length. And cutting 4x4s were always a pain. After cutting with this saw, I really saw how much I was missing out on. So easy and clean. I’m not sure if I’d like a laser more than the light, but hitting the mark wasn’t an issue. Now I’m interested in trying the flexvolt series. Another solid tool to add to my dewalt tool set.Update: Now that I’ve used it on a few projects, I have to say that I really like the shadow light guide. It’s very accurate. And one thing that I’d highly recommend if your using the dewalt miter saw horse, is to get the supports. Ideally, the ones that extend. It really helps with the long boards and posts.

My DW 716XPS fell victim to a “runaway” slab of marble when the installers helpers forgot to lock the dolly wheels. When I went to order a replacement in July I found out it had been discontinued but could be ordered. My dealer called last week (first week in November) to come pick up my new 716. Now it is the DWS 716XPS. Same great precision saw but now with a much improved dust collector chute. I always ran a shop vac and dust separator but now there is a great improvement in dust collection over the previous version 716. To anyone reading this review and has seen negative comments about CUTLINE (XPS) it does work very well. My advice- draw half a dozen or more lines on a 1 x 4, 1″ apart and practice using the CUTLINE. Go slow and you will see what distance the blade to work surface is when the shadow sharpens up so you can “final position” your work piece. A little practice and it will become second nature. This is not a laser line but an actual shadow cast of the blade. It never needs adjusted even when you change saw blades with different kerf widths.

So far it has maintained my expectations for Dewalt tools. The cutline LED is worth it. I initially planned on getting a sliding compound as it is close to the same price. But after reading reviews and assuming the wear that is involved with more moving parts I decided to stray. Glad I did. For the average consumer this will do most all of your needs.

My husband and I are giving this to our son for Christmas. Our son will eventually be building a deck on a house he is purchasing. My husband owns DeWalt products and has been very happy with them. I cannot comment on this one specifically, but my husband definitely has confidence in the product line.

I needed to upgrade from my starter 10 inch Delta saw, wanting a larger capacity, double bevel, compound saw with laser. I read reviews on just about every such saw, specifically wanting laser capability. Most reviews described less than accurate/worthless laser assistance, often requiring readjustment. Some described lasers that were only operational when the saw blade was turning (very dangerous), and some lasers that were battery operated. Some described laser lights that were too dim to use in brighter ambient light. Some reviews described inaccurate miter/bevel settings, which would defeat the whole purpose of a mitered saw to begin with. Some described underpowered saws that would bog down cutting 4 X 4 and larger. All of these features were unacceptable for me. So, I decided on the more expensive DW716XPS. This saw is truly a beast. It looks, feels and operates like a professional’s tool that it is. After checking the saw blade and guides for alignment, I was delighted to see that there was no adjustment necessary. I did a couple of test cuts to determine the width of the blade cut, but found that the LED blade “light” was spot on, and MUCH more useful and accurate than a laser guide. (This saw uses the LED to cast a shadow of the blade onto the target, and is frankly, ingenious.) I am a frequent home improvement guy, and for me, this saw is perfect. I was reluctant initially for the cost, but in my opinion, is the best saw available. I can highly recommend!!
