I struggled making the decision on whether I would purchase this model or the Dewalt 779. I researched many miter saws in this class. I can say the extra ~$100 for the 780 with the XPS LED lighting system was worth very extra penny. I keep the saw attached to the stand in the upright position to keep it out of the way. Using this saw compared to my 10 year old Craftsman is like night and day. Great saw and stand, would buy it all over again

Assembles in a few minutes and saves you from bending down all day to use the saw. Store this vertically and it takes up zero space in a corner of your workshop. Highly recommended!

I needed a new saw to replace my Milwaukee that I absolutely loved . At first I was disappointed that this one didn’t have a laser guide line . After a half a day of assembly of the saw and the rolling stand “that I had to have to go with the saw “ I was pleasantly surprised with the shadow guide that this saw has . It takes a little getting used to but once you get the hang of it it’s much better than the laser in my opinion . If you’re on the fence about this saw , do yourself a huge favor bite the bullet and buy it . After you use it a couple of times you won’t regret it. I do however recommend that you also buy the rolling stand to go with it . It makes moving it around from place to place a lot easier than the folding stand .

The saw is excellent quality and capable of perfect precision miter cuts. It does everything I was expecting of a pro-quality tool. We are using it for the miter cuts needed to replace all of the baseboards in our house. My only comment is that the lock lever in the trigger switch can be a bit of a problem for those of us who are left-handed. I have to push the lock lever to the left using the smallest finger of my left hand (right handers get to use their right index finger which is much stronger). As a result, I find I am having to learn to use the saw right-handed.

I always wanted this stand after about 10years ago, I borrowed my best friends stand just like this one ,its heavy duty and doesn’t take up a whole lot of space and the price is not bad.

The stand is built well and heavy duty, just realize it’s big and a little heavy to move, you need space to use it.

I picked this saw up on sale when my last miter saw wouldn’t cut square anymore. I like how this model now uses a metal guide to ensure that it remains square when cutting at true 0 and at several other critical angles. The XPS system allows me to know exactly where the blade will cut the wood and exactly how much wood I will lose in the cut, it is far more accurate than using the traditional laser.

Very good stand. Saw is secure and it accepts my weight in addition to the saw. Just checking capacity.

I have been using this stand for well over two years and is is a great piece of equipment. It’s very stable and doesn’t wobble at all. Moving it is a little cumbersome but just take your time. The only real issue that I’ve had is with the sliding/adjustable material supports/stops. The cheap little lock down knob was worthless. It’s a little two sided knob that didn’t last but just a few months before both sides cracked a fell apart. I use these a lot and also found that getting my large fingers in to turn the little two sided knob was frustrating at the least. Dewalt should have spent another dollar and supplied some wheel like knobs. I replaced my broken knobs with a round one with finger slots. They work great and lock down very easy and secure.
