My husband got this to replace his 20 years old Dewalt saw. he said he likes this one much better because of the new “bells and whistles” it has.

Saw is amazing. The cordless option is great and there is plenty of power

The stand is built well and heavy duty, just realize it’s big and a little heavy to move, you need space to use it.

Love it! Cordless for convenience and powerful!

So the saw is great, cuts well. Batteries last a long time. Have used it numerous projects from rough framing, decks and trim. The saw is very heavy and hard to move around once the base for stand is attached. This is rated 3 because the dust control is your lungs. There is no dust control. The bag is a joke to make you think that it’s doing something but look up and it will be cloudy inside… or try to take a deep breathe it won’t be good. Even attaching a shopvac to the dust collector doesn’t help because no saw dust gets into the tube anyways.Again the convenience is great not having to run generators but just be warned the dust is crazy

I picked this saw up on sale when my last miter saw wouldn’t cut square anymore. I like how this model now uses a metal guide to ensure that it remains square when cutting at true 0 and at several other critical angles. The XPS system allows me to know exactly where the blade will cut the wood and exactly how much wood I will lose in the cut, it is far more accurate than using the traditional laser.

Bought w/ the Rigid rolling stand (AC9946) and recommend both. This is more tool than I’m likely to need (glorified DIYer – not much need to cut 16″ lumber) but was on sale for 699 and it got me excited. On the cusp of a larger scale upstairs remodel but have only done small jobs w/ it so far. Double bevel is so convenient. The two bevel stops and 45 override clip (to go beyond 45 degree bevel) on each side work well. Used it a bit on battery and corded and didn’t feel a difference (but I’m not cutting anything close to 200+ boards at a time either). Both cut clean and easy. Simple to change between power sources. Slide and chop where smooth. Shadow cut guide has worked as advertised. The various locks have been tight and held true. Big heavy tool and my current space limitations mean I need to bring the saw out and put back to store each time I use it so the rolling stand and battery power have been very convenient. Found youtube by The Shack breaking down the DWS780’s features and examples for measuring and adjusting calibration to be helpful. No complaints so far.

Works great, I was a little worried about the power of the batteries but honestly I could not tell the difference between them or plugged in.

Easy set up and operation love quick clamps to mount the saw.

The perfect miter saw.

The saw is great! The batteries alone are worth the upgraded cost to the similar featured corded model. Trimmed out a kitchen from baseboards to crown on the cabinets on a single charge just to try it out. Very pleased!

Really impressed with this saw. Cordless tech has made leaps and bounds. I trimmed out an entire 1000 sqft house with one 9 ah battery set on one charge. Only gripe I have is there is no constant on setting for the cut line light for low light conditions.

Pros: Sturdy, easy set-up and tear-down, gives consistent repetitive cuts.Cons: The material supports and stops are where this equipment falls short. They’re made of flimsy stamped sheet metal and not easy to adjust, though once set up, give consistent cuts. For the money, it’s a keeper.

This makes using the saw easy to setup, use and breakdown in a very short period. The Stand is definitely made me feel more comfortable when using the saw and completing repeatable straight cuts.

Great saw, I own pretty much every Dewalt tool including miter saws before this one and this is so convenient when you’re on a job site with no power. It very powerful running on batteries which I was very surprised.

I have been using this stand for well over two years and is is a great piece of equipment. It’s very stable and doesn’t wobble at all. Moving it is a little cumbersome but just take your time. The only real issue that I’ve had is with the sliding/adjustable material supports/stops. The cheap little lock down knob was worthless. It’s a little two sided knob that didn’t last but just a few months before both sides cracked a fell apart. I use these a lot and also found that getting my large fingers in to turn the little two sided knob was frustrating at the least. Dewalt should have spent another dollar and supplied some wheel like knobs. I replaced my broken knobs with a round one with finger slots. They work great and lock down very easy and secure.
