Had 40′ of 5″ x 1/8″ metal stock I needed to cut into 15″ lengths. Got this blade and a cheap Riobi chop saw that HD had on sale for $75 and went to town on it. It worked great! It makes a very clean cut (you’ll still want a file to deburr though). The blade appears to have held up well, too. I suggest a light touch to keep from developing too much heat. This does throw metal shards, some of which will be hot. These will embed themselves in paint and plastic, and just generally go *everywhere*. So don’t use this on a chop saw you care about. And be prepared to contain the debris. That said, this is much cleaner than abrasive blades. All in all, I’m pleased with the purchase.

This blade more than met my expectations. I had to make 40 cuts on 1.5” bargrates. The metal was 3/16” thick. The first blade made 25 3ft cuts. The second blade made the remaining 15 cuts and was still cutting great. I will buy more guaranteed!!!!

If you need to make a few cuts in some 1/4″ thick stock, this will work for you if you cut very slowly. Otherwise you will need to find a saw and blades made to cut steel, like the Evolution series, which HD sells.

Excellent blade should last a lot longer than abrasive blades

I was installing a raised computer floor the floor tiles are 24″ x24″ metal with concrete inside. I tried everything to cut these and these blades worked better than anything else I tried I could make 8 – 10 24″ cuts with a blade And cutting unistrut they last a long time

I used it to cut steel roofing and it worked great.

This blade is rated to cut 1/8″ but EASILY cuts through 1/4″ mild steel. I’ve cut all sorts of heavy steel that I wouldn’t recommend anyone else do. Blade is awesome heck of a lot easier that jig saw blades or fiber cut off wheel.

I had a monster tree come down and crush my yard leaf vacuum and so I needed to cut out the damaged steel to make a usable trailer.I started my project with a cut-off wheel and after an hour of that non-sense I figured it would take several more days to cut the steel up on that old yard vacuum made with thick, heavy, American steel.I then found this blade on HD’s website, ordered it, installed it on my circular saw, and let the sparks fly.I agree with other reviews that the blade doesn’t seem to last as it barely lasted through the job I had but in hindsight I may have been so excited with how much quicker and cleaner it was cutting than the cut-off wheel that I probably could have gotten much more life out of it had I gone a lot slower. That darn setting sun may have rushed me a bit too.I could have easily spent the same amount of money on several packages of cutting wheels and far, far, far more time using them – what’s “your” time worth?

Installing Texas Rib metal roofing. I bought this blade to trim edges and ridge. The blade cut the material very easily. Few sparks and no heat build up. Use full face shield, long sleeves, hearing protection, etc… Only difficulty is that it cut the material so easily that staying on the line was a challenge.

I’ve used 8 or ten different steel-cutting blade brands and diameters on widely varying stock and in different saws. Since my applications are so varied it’s hard to establish with certainty what’s best, but these (7-1/4″ 38-tooth Diablo) have been far better than others. Notes from my experience:SLOWER IS BETTER. If you have a choice of putting this in your cordless saw vs. an AC-powered one, definitely go with the cordless. I’ve never had much luck with my sidewinder and any steel-cutting blades, and I can’t see much reason for this other than the much higher RPM.Don’t even think about cutting through (or even too close to) a weld. You might or might not get through it, and you won’t have a useful blade after that. After tolerating minor burns from the shower of uncomfortably-hot chips tossed out by these, I’ve made it routine to glove up (as well as wear other basic PPE, like long-sleeves, hearing- and eye-protection – a face-shield vs. safety-glasses) because doing it that way becomes a pleasure rather than playing roulette with chips landing on my forearms.Once you feel like you’re gonna have to push harder, it’s over…don’t even try, because cutting efficiency will drop off like you’ve gone over a cliff. The larger versions (not sure Diablo even makes one) for specialty low-speed chop-saws (eg DeWalt’s 872, a 14″ saw that’s geared down to 1300RPM for steel-cutting) are economically re-sharpen-able, depending on availability of those services in your area. I suspect these are not.

Absolutely worthy. Had a custom table base welded of 2×4 rectangle steel tubing. The welder took some liberty with my design and the finished product was nearly 5” to w talk. Yeah, that doesn’t work for a dining table. This blade made obscenely quick work of slicing off the extra 5”, to the point that it imperceptibly equal to the time required for cutting a 2×8. Clean cuts, no extra time or precautions, a surprising result.Using my dewalt cordless circular saw I was blown away at how quick and smooth this blade was. A-1 in my book.

Great saw blade. I have cut about 10 feet of 1/4″ plate so far with no problems. If you take your time, it works great!

I’ve been cross cutting 4″ by 4″ I Beams with almost 3/8″ flanges and the saw blade chewed right through all the material and had no problem when it came to the center web of the I beam.
