I use a 1×30 belt grinder primarily to sharpen my chisels and knives, 180 to 800 grit. When I get a nick in a blade or other damage or just need to reshape these 50 and 80 grit belts take stock off fast and after the 120 belt cleans it up the blade is ready for my aluminum carbide sharpening belts. These track beautifully and so far I am impressed with the grit life.

I will get these belts again. The Zirconium blend abrasive does an excellent job of removing wood and softer metals. I’ve used it on hard woods such as hard maple and oak with great results. The abrasive adheres to the belt very well. And it doesn’t plug up like other belts I’ve used. And when it does a touch with a neoprene rubber stick removes it. And I like the 3 different grits.

This is a nice set of belts including a fine, medium, and course grade selection of belts. You should be able to find the proper belt for the proper job in this kit. I have not used the medium or course belts, but I used the fine belt for sharpening an axe, and it made short work of it. Fit perfectly on my 30″ belt sander and seemed to hold up without any problems. But as with any belt, the longevity of it depends on what youre using it on and for. Overall, Im very satisfied with their performance.
