The conversion sanding hold very well, but as the sanding disc gets a little worn the loops don’t hold on to the conversion disc as well.

Ended up not sticking as well as hoped. However, that’s probably due to my base. So, I changed the base out to a hook & loop base.

I bought this to be able to continue using a hook and loop sander that the sandpaper was falling off of because the attachment surface was worn out. It worked great. New parts for my sander were only available online but I didn’t want to wait, so this was a good alternative and it’s stood up to heavy use.

Generic 8 Hole pattern doesn’t match B&D hole pattern exactly. Some are really big holes in disk. But install straightforward to repair bad pad. Sanded off worthless remaining loops on pad. Attached new disk. 1/4″ bigger than pad so trimmed. Sandpaper now sticks. No instructions on how long for adhesive to cure.

Sanded down the face of my Dewalt orbital sander and figured I would be stuck with stick on sanding disks, this conversion disk sticks on like a sanding disk but ends up being a new face plate for the five hole or eight hole Velcro pads I normally use. It lasts better then the original.

We bought both the Ryobi sanding backing pad and this one. I agree with the other review about a lack of directions, but that is to be expected with junk made in China. Just adhere to the existing surface, and you are back in business, so it’s not technical. It’s better than having your sander out of commission waiting for the sanding backing pad on a holiday.
